I couldn't find a thread on this so if there is already a thread on this sorry. I understand the difference in the shape and sound (H Pipe deeper sound, X Pipe more Rasp) but is there any concrete data or Dynos that anyone has done to prove that the X pipe gives more power? I just bought the MBRP catback that comes with the H Pipe but now am starting to have buyers remorse since all i read is that X pipes are better. Thanks for the help!

There is not enough of a difference to worry about anything power gain wise. Get the one that you think sounds better.

I have an H mid pipe on my Mustang but I don't like the sound (and I'm going to change it son for the Ford Racing mid X pipe), my X pipe on my 575 C3 Corvette sounds meaner and I have also the impression that the X pipe allows rpms to climb easier and smoother then the H pipe...

But that's me.

This right here.

The only time when the cross over style will really come in to play is if you are turning 8k+ RPM and 700+ HP naturally aspirated aka NASCAR. An otherwise stock Mustang, or one with bolt on's and/or a blower will not see much difference between the two, if at all, to really get worked up about it.

Get the one you think sounds best, which you obviously picked the H and MBRP, and have some fun.
