I just assembled these front rotors with my son this afternoon, will be on the car with the signature SV502 wheels this spring. 50 pounds off the front rotating mass, 20 off the rear. Adding lightness. (a grand less than the racing brake version.)Imagine what kind of handling and acceleration the R model would have had with CCB and carbon fiber wheels !!!
I'd be interested in updating to CCB on my R if they made it available at a reasonable price point.
Make sure you report back on performance when you get a chance man.I just assembled these front rotors with my son this afternoon, will be on the car with the signature SV502 wheels this spring. 50 pounds off the front rotating mass, 20 off the rear. I'm counting on the car feeling a bit different...... I figure the 8-9 grand is what I would have paid for an R, at least that's how I rationalized the money side of things!
Funny you should mention that. I contacted RB (who made my GT350 kit) and checked to see what they have. Turns out they have 420x40 front and 370x30 rear rotor kits for the Audi RS7.Maybe Racing Brake will come out with something like that.
They already show fronts for the 2020 GT500. On sale $6600.Funny you should mention that. I contacted RB (who made my GT350 kit) and checked to see what they have. Turns out they have 420x40 front and 370x30 rear rotor kits for the Audi RS7.
Front assembled rotors weigh 19 pounds, rear are 11.2 pounds. All four rotors come in just over 60 pounds, compared to the GT500 set somewhere around 110 to 120 pounds (fronts are 42# each and I'm guessing the rear rotors are 15 to 20 pounds each).
So, if anyone is waiting on a GT500 (@Tomster?) and wants to lighten up the unsprung mass, a call to RB might prompt them to make GT500 hats for the rotors they already have. 60 pounds off should make some kind of a difference...
Even better! They already show fronts for the 2020 GT500. On sale $6600.
Actually, having run the CCB's since 2017, the braking in city driving is excellent. I have been using Pagid RSL29's and they're great when cold, so it's very civilized in the city and great on the track too. I'm looking at switching up to Pagid RSC1's this year when the 29's wear out....RB sells really good stuff. I used to run Carbotech XP8 in my Alcon brakes on my S4. In the city they were sort of dangerous cause they never got hot enough to really work. I suppose the CCR setup would be even dicier in city and daily driving...
I have the CCM's on my GT350 as well, and I went a track season with the factory rear calipers and concluded that I wanted more thermal capacity at the rear, so I installed these:I might have missed it but will the GT500 rear calipers fit on GT350R - I have carbon ceramics on 4 corners and feel I need a little more rear clamping pressure on 1/2 mile shootouts
