Mr. Vader, your car has arrived......
Made it home to California safe and sound. Will have to wait for a sunny day to take this "Beast" out to the coast. Spin out the tires on my damp driveway.
Why would I want to do that?Tom can you unwind your deal since you have not taken delivery?
Since you already have 2 Rs and I thought you bought it because it was the last base R but obviously it is still a rare beast! Why would I want to do that?
I'm happy for the guy, I hope he understands what he has. Congrats.
I bought it for the rarity of being a base R. I was told during the process that it was the last. Bonus.Since you already have 2 Rs and I thought you bought it because it was the last base R but obviously it is still a rare beast!
I plan to look into that, but I was told that the chassis number is designated as they leave the line. That is not a perfect science, because my source had explained to me that he saw cars leave the line without a chassis designation (that was assigned after the fact). So the only real way to put this one to bed is by going through ford performance. Will pass this along. I am familiar with the 69'70' mustangs & formost the70' Boss 302 as having restored one. During that time period using the VIN #'s didn't really have a bearing on first/last production. Reaching back several years here with memory, A car was serialized # & then a buck # & for whatever reason( that I can't recall at the moment) did not hold true as they came down the line. That was 50 years ago. I have no clue how Fords system would work with todays technology. Guess this is a"for what's it worth" statement.
I have owned several of these cars. To give a value is not really possible. They vary too widely and depend on condition, color and options. As of lately, they seem to bottom out in the high 40's and can reach 90. The problem is prices are pretty dynamic on the high side. May want to give a bit more informationzzrat..... having restored a 1970 Boss 302....... I would appreciate your opinion
On Sunday I will be making an offer on a :
1970 Mustang Boss 302
Dearborn Plant Production
56,000 Original miles
Original paint
Never modified
Complete numbers matching drivetrain
No rust
Original Owner’s history
Original sales invoice and documents
What would you feel in your opinion and in today’s 1970 Boss 302 market is a fair price for both buyer and seller ?
Cheers !!
