You are correct with pipe v. tubing, but I didn't want to toss more details into the reply.Pipe will confuse most, you’re dealing with tubing. There is a huge difference between the two types.
Always reference Tube as the material. In your case 70mm/2.75” tube which is the actual outside diameter of the material. Stick to using .065” or .049” wall thickness which translates into 16 gauge or 18 gauge when using gauge as thickness.
I also did not want to emphasize that the proper grade of stainless needs to be used.... there are 38 Grades of Stainless Steel. A proper exhaust shop should be able to provide the correct grade - I hope!
