Hey all, I recently installed a shiftech X-pipe. It sounds amazing in the higher rev range, but has some significant raspiness in the 2-3k range. I think it is due to the 2.5in tube. Does anyone have the LTH Resonator delete (2.75in tube that matches the R)? Any sound clips or reviews would be greatly appreciated 😊

I have had a few X pipes and H pipes in my exhaust adventures on the coyote. The diameter made zero difference to any rasp. Such is the general nature of the X pipe.

The only time diameter seemed to have any impact for my ears was when I tried a 3 inch from cats back....but that just sounded like poo in general.

Those of us with Voodoo engines who have tried various midpipes would say that the Voodoo engine sounds are very much affected by diameter of the piping. OPs original post reflects what a lot of us experienced with a 2.5" midpipe.

I’ve had the MBRP and LTH on my 350. Rasp seemed to be the same between both, but I did prefer the sound on the 2.75ā€ LTH pipe. It had a much more refined and controlled sound compared to the MBRP.

This is my car, you can hear the noise I’m speaking about around 4:10. Sort of like a trombone. But amazing once it gets above the 3k range.

This is my buddies car that has a LTH X pipe, you can hear it at 6:50.

I’m not going crazy right? šŸ˜‚ Will most likely order the LTH pipe soon.

I had the LTH X Pipe on my previous 350 with no complaints. I currently have another one in the garage waiting to be put on my current 350. Excellent piece for the price and great finish. You won’t be disappointed.
