ZANGGGG you got a 1098sf!? Thats peak hypernaked to me that people sleep on.Its a great all around touring car, very easy to live with for a sports car. Other sports cars handle better when driving faster but I dont drive that fast anymore, and the motorcycle scratches that itch better anyways.
I got more attention from my F-type, (cops or otherwise) but I feel like if you dont know mustangs or cars in general most people write it off as just another mustang. Around my area I cant scratch my balls without seeing another mustang.
I get more attention from actual car guys in the GT350 which is how I prefer it.
Hopefully maybe@MAGS1 , buy yourself a GT350 already… you deserve one my friend!
Haha yeah, its my way of staying on a motorcycle as i get old without going cruiser or touring bike. Like the gt350 it sits in the sweet spot between race machine and practical appliance.ZANGGGG you got a 1098sf!? Thats peak hypernaked to me that people sleep on.
I totally get it I have a couple Ducs in the garage as well..along with 2 jap bikes. I always wanted a 1098SF and stuff a 1098/1198R engine in it with some RS cams and Nemesis ecu. Couple years ago I finished my 748/1098 build which turned out wayyyyy better than I expected. Bikes spoil us in terms of getting our fix for all out speed.Haha yeah, its my way of staying on a motorcycle as i get old without going cruiser or touring bike. So I have the 350 drivetrain with canards and hood vents and windshield contrasting Tire Rack banner but no 350 or Shelby badges or bodywork. Just looks like a GT but sounds like a 350 and I dont get much attention.I never get any attention.![]()
This is a great fookin post!! Awesome. Congrats good sir -- Fine car and great job sharing "today's adventures".This car is something else. It’s not the fastest car I have owned. Doesn’t have the most horsepower. Is not as modified as some of my other ones.
But it is special. I’m not sure if it’s the looks, the sound, the fact that it’s a “Shelby”, for whatever reason, it is an absolute magnet for attention. Car people know what it is, and usually want to hear it rev. I get that all the time. That is the most common experience. People on the sidewalk gesturing at me, at the stop light revving, or just plan yelling at me to rev that shit up.
Non car people just wave and point or say nice car. They ask if it’s real. I guess they mean is it actually a GT350. They ask how much it cost, what do I do for work. They assume the car cost a fortune, and that I’m rich. Nope! I got it used with 18k miles. Some other dude got blasted with the markups and depreciation.
I bring this all up because today was just one of those days the GT350 delivered a unique experience. It started with me getting pulled over by state trooper. Got me for the tint; which is absolutely illegal. 99.9% of the time in my area, the cops don’t care. All of their cruisers are illegal, it’s Florida so it’s hot, and illegal tint is on damn near every car on the road. Usually they just use tint as an excuse to dig deeper into you and the car looking for dope and stuff.
Turns out the cop was a Mustang guy, and he really just wanted to see the car close and talk about it. See if I liked it, he was considering getting one. I let him sit in it, he played with the shifter, popped the hood, looked under the car. I must have talked to the dude for half hour. Told him to start using this website if he was serious about getting one. Then we shook hands and he let me go within a warning. Said if it was his car he would have tinted as well.
Get back on the road and kept it moving. Ten minutes later I feel eyes on me. I’m in the right lane and there is a minivan next to me on the left matching my speed. Passenger window is down and they give me a thumbs up. They start to pass, and the guy leans halfway out the damn window, taking pictures or video.
He wasn’t fooling around. He was damn near falling out the window. What do you think happened next? We are going 70 mph. The wind grabbed his phone and yanked it right out of his hand. I had to swerve into shoulder to dodge the thing. Would have busted my windshield so easy.
Nothing I could do. Let them in front me so they could pull over and run back to get it. I waved and gave them a few revs.
It’s flattering I suppose. We are blessed to own these cars. I do my best to share the car with people, especially kids. I let them sit in it, take pictures, give them a short ride if I can. I remember being that age, and how positive an experience it is when you get to see and touch a dream car.
Does everyone else get the same attention in your GT350 or GT500? Like substantially more attention than average sports car? I can’t be the only one.

Until they hear yours lol... otherwise it's definitely a sleeper! So I have the 350 drivetrain with canards and hood vents and windshield contrasting Tire Rack banner but no 350 or Shelby badges or bodywork. Just looks like a GT but sounds like a 350 and I dont get much attention.
so people know what the bodywork mean, and yes its special. Enjoy it!
(I do get attention when I out the wing on)
Heck I even look thrice when I see a 350 on the road, and I’ve driven S197s, Mach1s, 350s and even a GT500 on close courses.

Love the wing. Looking for something for my car for a wing, but not that big lol. That wing is huge. Looks sick.So I have the 350 drivetrain with canards and hood vents and windshield contrasting Tire Rack banner but no 350 or Shelby badges or bodywork. I'm 2 miles from VMP. I see a few Mustangs around here too ;)Its a great all around touring car, very easy to live with for a sports car. Other sports cars handle better when driving faster but I dont drive that fast anymore, and the motorcycle scratches that itch better anyways.

When people ask how much my Mach 1 was and I tell them they always ask why did you pay that much for a car. They usually will go they would not pay that much for any car.My 2021 Mach 1 gets more attention than the 2015 GT Premium did even though it's now an "old" body style. The 2015 was awesome from 2015-2018 because the lines were new and yet a bit retro. The Mach 1 does something entirely different and it stills turns heads although the body isn't really any different than the start of the 6th Gen. I think part of the draw is that Mustangs are still a car people can relate to because they're not outrageously expensive. My first car was a '69 Mach 1 (used) and I'm loving my return to the Mach 1 with the '21. My mileage (and customer satisfaction) is measured in "Smiles per mile!"
My wife taught me the best response to that -- "it's not a car, it's an experience." She didn't understand why I wanted a Mustang until I told her it was an "experience" to me. And then in 2015 we took a trip around Lake Ontario in my 2015 and she learned that Mustangs are something special to a lot of people (both sides of the border) and they are "a thing." Or in her terms, an experience. So when Ford first offered up the new Mach 1 in 2021, she said "you should do it."When people ask how much my Mach 1 was and I tell them they always ask why did you pay that much for a car. They usually will go they would not pay that much for any car.
