Haha yeah, its my way of staying on a motorcycle as i get old without going cruiser or touring bike. Like the gt350 it sits in the sweet spot between race machine and practical appliance.
Its a great all around touring car, very easy to live with for a sports car. Other sports cars handle better when driving faster but I dont drive that fast anymore, and the motorcycle scratches that itch better anyways.
I got more attention from my F-type, (cops or otherwise) but I feel like if...
The fact I can comfortably daily drive a 12 second car with ac is nuts compared to what I grew up with.
The 80s were fun but a golden era of cars it was not. Everything was a box with wheels. I do miss pop up headlights.
Interesting, I assumed it was lower since they made such a big deal about the 5.2 being 12:1 and the other mustangs were 11:1 at the time
Its amazing what compression they are getting in normal cars now. It used to be something this high was only for the higher end stuff, one of the good things...
Just to clarify my experience on the gt350, in the mornings when its mid 60's or lower it takes maybe 2-3 seconds to fire up when cold. I am not sitting there waiting or trying multiple times, when its warmer the start is almost instant.
Its NOT an issue from my point of view but it is a...
Its only a hard crank on the flex tune, with the R tune it starts right up. As was explained to me its the flex tune being conservative with initial timing on a 12:1 compression engine.
The flex tune does learn on my car but its just not as agressive as the E85R tune. Its perfectly drivable and...
I recommend it
Its hard to crank when its cold so I dont run it during the winter months but an easy 50hp. Im in southern california so winter is only like mid 60's average.
There is a difference between the flex tune and the E85R tune, the 85R tunes have more agressive timing ramps where the...
If you can do that with aluminum you will be fine with Ti.
In my experience Ti is easier to weld (requires less heat input and puddle control is easier) but its more sensitive to oxygen contamination which isnt a big deal for exhuast welding. I would still try to back purge somehow just for...
In my experience hesitation is what holds most people back. Racing, Love, Business, life in general.
Is it too far to be a legend, cause thats what this is. The memories this journey will make is worth it.
Motorcycles are my track weapon of choice but you're making me rethink that with this build.
If the hood wasn't vented allowing sunlight in this probably wouldn't be a problem. But I agree this part should not have been plastic in this car, or at least it should have been made from a more UV stable plastic.
If it was just an overflow tank it wouldn't be an issue but it has to go...
Just the portion under the front hood vent that would get sunlight.
Outside under a car cover, it gets driven 2-3 days a week on average. Car has 15k miles, no track days but plenty of mountain roads and road trips.
I ❤ this thread.
When most people are worried about getting the car wet projects like this make me feel things only appropriate away from the eyes of god.
Oil change and found the coolant tank is starting to crumble. I can scratch a gouge in it with my fingernail.
The portion under the hood vent is succumbing to uv exposure.... good thing there's some sales going on right now.
Not so much the shelby part of the name but I wanted a gt350 as a kid, when this car came around as an adult I bought it.
Though I do appreciate the history that is caroll shelby and what he contributed to the history of the brand, he is not the reason I bought it the car. This is just a case...
He half brought it on himself, guys are going to poke fun at each other but his responses are what keep it going.
You cant make a claim that you have the bigger dick (especially on the internet) and not expect push back.
Though im starting to think he really isnt in full control of his...
I got a plate and car description. Unfortunately because a visor was down the rear camera didn't catch it.
It's all been reported and I know enough people at lapd to get a real report taken. Sad you have to know someone to get an actual report done, but it's the times we live in.
The bumper is...
