Anyway we can get a raw metal one?
If you take the plastic version to a local jewelry maker they should be able to easily make a silicone mold to cast them in an inexpensive low melting temp metal like pewter. Making more would likely be even cheaper than 3D printing them. The figure 8 shape you made the tail in though might be an issue for a split mold. It's possible - but the prices reach into $250+ (with 3D Printing)
I also looked into CNC process but my model has too much detail and curvature for a CNC machine to properly process it.
I hear ya! - I'm still working on nailing down a process to prep/paint/clear coat this version.Looks great... I'm holding off for the 3.5" version.
These are made in a highly durable plastic called Nylon12 - It is surprisingly strong and detailed. They look great!
Are these final versions going to be metal or another substance?
Can you make edible chocolate ones? Just really curious, not hungry or anything...
Will the entire thing be painted one solid color, or will the eyes and scales be painted a different color from the rest of the body? (I realize that would be pretty involved, but just seeking clarification.)They will be painted in a few select OEM paint colors (Hopefully the end color looks close to actual car paint)
