Wanted to see what others thought of future cars to buy instead of S650. I plan on trading probably next for a 2026 model as I have a 2023 GT now and usually trade every 3 yrs when warranty is about up. Still not liking the S650 GT that much, maybe I will more as time goes on or maybe Ford refreshes it if sales are not good. Do not seem to be selling much around my area, have not seen a S650 on street yet. Watched a few videos on BRZ, GR86 but not a great engine and small cars, do not really like Supra, read visibility bad in Supra too. Did see a rumor on youtube Chevy may bring a new updated Camaro back in 2025 with the 6.2L, guy said Chevy would not allow Ford to have all the ponycar market, that may be cool if they fix the visibility issues. anybody else heard of any cool future sports cars ?

Camaro comes and goes but with GM’s all electric push it looks likely that it won’t come back. At least not with a V8. Hard to tell though.

If you want a big V8, CT5-V Blackwing may be the only other option besides Mustang.

BMW M cars perform well but they’re pricey and the new ones are ugly IMO.

S650 looks good, we’ll see what a refresh looks like (assuming it gets one in a few years). Or keep what you have, S550 is a beautiful car and performs really well.

Met a guy at a car meet in SE MI, Camaro is fully intended to die with no successor that isn't hybridized or ev moving forward. They literally came out earlier this yr after poaching an exec from Apple and are pressing their future EV's to not use Carplay or Android Auto.

If you are hungry for a new car (in my dumb opinion not a smart move) I think you'll be forced to look BMW 2 Series or 4 Series, Cayman, C8 Corvette, or going used route (make the argument once more for a GT350 but that's just me).

But sports car market is dying and with reason, no one buys them outside of enthusiasts, American's insist they need to have a car that can do everything and a sports car doesn't fit that image, our infrastructure and insurance is @$$ and punishes those that do go that route even with the good drivers.

A CT5-V Blackwing is a $100K 4 door sedan. I wouldn't really call it an alternative to a $50K 2 door Mustang GT.

Keep it for 5years or Upgrade. Get a 2023 Mach1, 2022 GT500, or a 2020 GT350. I would like a GT350 to put next to my Mach1, to have both auto and manual 650s would be sweet.
It is sweet for sure.

I‘ve wound up with both auto and manual 2023 Mach 1s and I enjoy them immensely. I almost traded them both toward a near-new GT500 but crawfished at the last moment because some days I still feel like I want to row my own. Also at 74 with knee and hip replacements it’s good to have options. It’s a ridiculous indulgence but if you can pull it off I highly recommend it!

I'll be at my buddies next month and he has a 2022 Supra so I will try to remember to pop back in and comment as we are doing an auto x event when I'm there as well.

I think I’m going Mclaren next, the base Mclaren GT offers a lot of bang for your buck, it will be a nice step up from a mustang.

possibly POSSIBLY I could also see the E-ray if they are made in enough quantities

Love it.

I have a 1000hp 10r80 s550 but have recently got the itch to pick up a new, left over, manual Mach 1 before they're all gone.

How do you like the manual vs the 10r80?

If I had to replace my Mustang right now, I would not buy a S650. That's got nothing to do with not liking the car. I actually like the S650. It's just that: I'm only going to get to own so many cars, so I don't want another Mustang unless it's radically different and the S650 is not. I'd probably be looking at a Audi S3 , BMW M240i, or the like.

That‘s a really good question and I guess the answer is “it depends “. The manual is a lot of fun and I often don’t realize how much I enjoy it until I jump in it after not having driven it for a while.

Also hard to compare because they’re two entirely different cars. The A10 car is a loaded premium while the manual is a base stripper with Nav being the only option. I love the simplicity of that car!

I'll be keeping my GT and adding a 911 or GTR to the stable. This way the V8 rumble and 6 speed is still around.
