I might be alone on this one, but I'm not a fan of the shifting in sport mode - it's a little too all over the place and delayed IMO. I love the throttle response though.
No, we probably agree. It just depends what kind of driving it is. Sport mode is great for back roads or any aggressive driving, but I do think it holds gears too long for normal daily driving. If I think it's holding too long I'll paddle shift up a gear to bring the revs down, or flip it back to normal. Sometimes I'll change modes every few minutes as I hit different areas of town. :)

Since the MT82 and TR3160 are nearly identical, perhaps the Mustang will revert back to Tremec. The Getrag is a fine transmission, sure there are some that are not but, they hold power fairly decent. The main draws on the Getrag is cost, weight, torque capacity and gearing.

The Getrag is a serious contender, if it wasn't, Tremec would have never built their own version of it. Now that there are two fantastic options, I could go either way. The Tremec will cost more and the capacity may not be rated at such a high GVWR... Other than that...
