Base gasoline prior to additives is the same, but is it possible that additives can lessen the effectiveness?

When I had the conversation with the Steeda guys, they felt that the Shell additives might be diluting the end product.

Personally, I can't say I feel a difference. But I did switch from Shell to BP, then to Sunoco when I moved to a new area where BP isn't readily available.

The car runs plenty strong on all of their 93 options.
I doubt that additives are diluting the end product. But I also doubt the additives are extending your engines life by any measurable amount:shrug:.

You shouldn't. I run ethanol free BP never ever had issues.
The only time I had kind of an issue is when I had less than quarter of tank gas sitting in my hot garage in the middle of the summer for about 3 weeks and the octane dropped low enough for the ECU to cut spark and one of my exhaust tips was coated in soot after I drove her hard.
Nice, good to know. I need to look around and see if anyone around here is pumping it in 91 then.

I've been using Citgo because there's a station right in town. There's also a Sunoco right across the street from it. The Citgo is usually cheaper, so I mostly go there. There's 93 octane all over the place in my area.

I'm not picky, I go where it's cheap, typically costco, sometimes frys (Kroger for you east coasters) and then qt. Those tend to be the places I hit up most. I refuse to go to chevron as they are the most expensive place around by far.

Sunoco 93 religiously, I remember they used to sell Ultra 94 back in the day, used to pay $1.29/ga for my Vortech supercharged Saleen a long time ago

I run Wawa 92 out of convenience, there's multiple ones on my daily commute and they're usually the cheapest. Who knows the quality of it but I'm sure its not great. I occasionally run Exxon 93 and it does seem like my car likes it more than Wawa. doesn't feel faster or anything but seems to idle and run smoother.

I'd probably use the BP station by my house if their gas wasn't a full dollar more per gallon than everyone else, which is ridiculous. I don't know how that station stays in business.

I usually use Costco 87, but when I feel rich every now and then, I spoil my baby with Shell 91 V-power

Shell 91 since that the highest in Cali
OK. You have a JLT intake which means you must already have a tune since you can't run it without one. That being said you're crazy not to have a Lund flex fuel tune since that would enable you to run 105 octane e85.

Shell 93. Or in a pinch, whatever the hell is around.
