  1. QuickJack Question and Decision help

Do you happen to have a picture of this setup? Sounds like a good idea.
  2. QuickJack Question and Decision help

I agree, I'd still throw a couple jack stands underneath to be on the safe. Or even a wheel and tire if they are off the car.
  3. QuickJack Question and Decision help

I don't really see how the QJ could shift unless the car wasn't properly seated on the jack or something/someone pushed on the car. The QJ is much bigger than a jack stand or regular jack. Only other option would be some sort of frame failure. The weight of the car alone would prevent it from...
  4. QuickJack Question and Decision help

Nice. I also have the Steeda rear subframe braces on mine. Nice to know they can be worked around. So the blocks in the rear don't touch the IRS sub frame braces at all? Does the car sit at an angle on the QJ since you use the two different blocks? My car is stock height so I think I'd be able...
  5. QuickJack Question and Decision help

Interesting, I would have thought for sure the TLX would be too long. If that can work than a 7000TL should have no problems.
  6. QuickJack Question and Decision help

Thanks for the pictures, that gives me a better look at everything. Nice to know I can use the rail for the front blocks and then the pinch welds for the rear blocks. Probably go with a 7000TL so I can lift pretty much everything and it's the same size as the 5000TL.
  7. QuickJack Question and Decision help

Welp, looks like the new models of the 5000/7000TL have a longer minimum jacking point of 37". Steeda rails are 35". My options are to either by a new set of the longer steeda rails or just remove them entirely and utilize the pinch rails. Leaning more towards the pinch rails. I can't find the...
  8. QuickJack Question and Decision help

Got it. Didn't think the short rails would have enough length to keep the car stable in the QuickJack Nice to know that it will all tie together. I know the new model has a longer minimum distance so I will have to make sure that it will work with the rails but it sounds like it will be good to go.
  9. QuickJack Question and Decision help

That's actually really awesome. Thanks for the tip.
  10. QuickJack Question and Decision help

Gotcha. Just so I'm clear, since you can use the lift with the short Steeda rails, do you place the blocks so they are on each end of the rail or do you use a short block on the rail and a tall block on the pinch weld? Just trying to visualize it.
  11. QuickJack Question and Decision help

I'm going to look into this. Is it a kit or a DIY mod?
  12. QuickJack Question and Decision help

Thanks for the input, I'm assuming the 5000tl, correct?
  13. QuickJack Question and Decision help

Looking to buy a QuickJack to use for my '15 GT but I have the original Steeda jack rails (short). I've searched the forum and I can only find info on a QuickJack being used with the longer version. Does anyone know if the the short rails will work with a 5000TL/TLX? Was also looking at the...
  14. Need help choosing polishing pads.

Cool. Sounds like I will order up a bunch of orange and white pads. Starting with the white and moving to orange and necessary. Looks like chemical guys markets their green pad as an in-between of the white and orange where as LC has theirs as softer than their white. I'm hoping the white is all...
  15. Need help choosing polishing pads.

Hello all, Picked up a Griots G9 for my first time polishing up my Ruby Red Mustang. Anyway, I have a bottle of Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions 1 and done compound that I used a while back to hand polish out some scratches a friend's dog put on my car when it was excited to see me and jumped on my...
  16. Low voltage warning and battery issue, need help diagnosing.

Follow-up... My mechanic asked if I had any engine work done because all of the valve cover bolts were loose. The two directly above the alternator were almost backed out all the way. This causes oil to leak onto the alternator and burn it out. He tightened them down, obviously, but he said he...
  17. Low voltage warning and battery issue, need help diagnosing.

Tried cleaning the terminals again and checked the wiring out, everything looked good. Still no change. Charged the battery back up and limped it along to the mechanics garage last night since he's right down the road from me. Alternator is bad. $475 for OEM replacement and $125 for the...
  18. Low voltage warning and battery issue, need help diagnosing.

Talked to my mechanic, thinks the intermittent charging is odd too and it may not be the alternator, might be a bad sensor or regulator.he won't know until he runs some tests. I'm working late tonight so I will try these suggestions when I get home. Battery is a diehard gold 96R-3.
  19. Low voltage warning and battery issue, need help diagnosing.

I was afraid it would be an alternator. Car is out of the warranty period, unfortunately. I was thinking if the alternator was bad it wouldn't stay running. This car has been very good to me for almost 7 years now so I guess it's about time it starts to have some issues.
  20. Low voltage warning and battery issue, need help diagnosing.

Ok, so long story short, low voltage warning came up on the dashboard on my way to work. Started car when leaving and it was fine at first, then I get a more serious looking warning to "check charging system immediately". The voltage was down to around 9 volts. I was close to home luckily...
