How many of y’all are purchasing the extended warranties on their GT500s? I’m inclined not to purchase as it will be a low mileage car for me, but I’m a bit concerned with future repair costs given all the engineering that’s in this car.

I'm interested in hearing responses on this.

For me, while the DCT is one huge reason for wanting the car, it's also one concern for long-term (aka probably permanent) ownership. Basically the biggest concern....

When you can buy them at dealer cost, it's a no brainer to me. Even low mileage, you could do an 8yr/36k for under $1,500. If you just want the power train, that's under $1,000.

And with such low mileage, you could renew it at the end of the 8 years for another 4 or 5 years.

Yes. I have an 8 year with lots of miles(60,000). Especially, for engine replacement. There is a forum, here, on the plan from Flood Ford? Goose, you may want to jump in and reply. My dealer matched the price from Flood Ford which was @$800.00.

Since I was willing to pay a reasonable ADM on the car - they gave me the extended at a really good price - I figure with all the electronics and stuff - it was worth it to cover me all the way out for 6 years and way more miles than I can put on it here in snow country.
Also did the full wheel and tire - mostly because that was damn near free - and since I bent 2 rims on the C7 - I cam into it with a "fear" factor as well.

All in for everything covered bumper to bumper including wheels and tires for 5 years and like 60k miles - I paid just a hair over $2k.
(edit - this even includes bushings and other things that HPDE track time will put a beat down on)

I definitely would get the extended warranty. I got Flood Ford, they will be the best price, unless your dealer will match it. I believe I posted a thread about it. I am still in Vegas on a trip and only on my phone so I’m a little limited between device and time.

I took the 8/75,000 for $1,160 which I looked at as a good option, but since the new year the prices went through the roof. But for me it was a no brainer as I know I wont hit the 75,000 mark, but at least the car is covered 2028.

Thanks all! This is great info. At the prices being discussed, it really is a no brainer. Especially considering how much I’ll be spending on PPF.

I appreciate the info of Flood Ford. That will give me a solid alternative and some negotiating leverage for the dreaded visit to the finance managers office when I take delivery.

Could it be that the same plan went all they way up to $4560? I’m looking at the PremiumCare with $0 deductible in NY. That’s an insane increase!

That is correct starting I believe 1/6/2021 thats the going price. I know some place MIGHT be playing with old pricing, but I think thats long gone at this point, unless someone else has an ace up their sleeve.

HOLY :asshat: those Flood Ford ESP prices are CHEAP - I got screwed! :)
Luckily - I have 60 days to cancel no hassle...
No you did not, you missed the cutoff for the price increase which is was 1/6/2021 I believe.

I still got :bandit: - looking at their pricing chart right now - 6 year - 60K, that's 10K more than my coverage right now... $1790... and I can use the 42K Ford Points I got when I took delivery to lower it another $250... and that's with a $100 deductible... my current plan is like $200 more before the ford pass points, for 50K miles with a $150 deductible...

I definitely went with the extended warranty. As someone earlier said, it was a no brainer. 8 years/60k miles, less than $1k. Only thing I screwed up on was not getting the key services.
