I think I just made a simple observation that if it was heavier than the outgoing model I probably would look elsewhere. I didn't say I was absolutely, fuck-the-S550-and-fuck-Ford not buying the new Mustang. So there are dozens of independant reports of significant weight reduction that everyone questions, then a single report that it might gain weight and people are already resigned to buying something different? Is there anything concrete that the IRS going into the Mustang is any heavier than the SRA that came out?
It absolutely is, by 150-200 lbs actually. So there are dozens of independant reports of significant weight reduction that everyone questions, then a single report that it might gain weight and people are already resigned to buying something different? Is there anything concrete that the IRS going into the Mustang is any heavier than the SRA that came out?
Bingo. The point is it is almost impossible without the abundant use of lighter materials, dramatically decreasing the size of the vehicle, or stripping a lot of equipment, none of which they did, to make up for the kind of weight increase the ILIRS added. That's all I'll say.
Gents, this is not apples to apples (S197 v S197) comparison. All of the engineering and improvements made to the S550 make it apples to oranges. FYI, the Model T had a curb weight of 1200 pounds. That's being dramatic, but you get my drift.
These two paragraphs seem to contradict themselves. On the one hand you say the IRS added weight compared to the SRA and that they didn't do anything to counteract it, then on the other hand, you say that it's an all new car so you can't really compare the two. Well, which is it?The point is it is almost impossible without the abundant use of lighter materials, dramatically decreasing the size of the vehicle, or stripping a lot of equipment, none of which they did, to make up for the kind of weight increase the ILIRS added. That's all I'll say.
