Yes....@robvas just beat me to it.

At the end of the day all boost is "expensive". There are things that will add up that you won't really think about like installation costs, custom tuning, dyno time, tires, etc. If you don't have at least 10k ready to put into the car then stop.

You have to consider too that the PD blowers are full "plug and play" kits with injectors, heat exchangers, tuning, etc. So they will always be more since it's an "out the door price".
If you decide on a Roush I got mine for $7500 (10% discount for labor day). If you can wait until November there should be black Friday sales on some blowers I would imagine. And @engineermike will tell you that the Roush blower on E85 essentially alleviates the cooling issues. And that you can run E85 with just a BAP. And if you keep your stock exhaust he has a plethora of knowledge about specific tuning for cat overtemp protection.... because all of this will save you money
Yeah, I know how fast = $$$$$$. I've been a HP junkie for over two decades now. But it's been all N/A or Turbo stuff. I've always wanted a supercharger "build". I didn't realize the PD blowers come "ready-to-run", that's good to know. I don't plan on doing any of this until early next year, so I have time and patience. Honestly, this thread is going like I hoped. You and a few others have opened my eyes to other avenues to achieve the same goal. Now I'll start my homework on PD blowers.

Tbh, any modifications can lead to a failure of one or more components (whether NA or boosted). Of course when boosted, the margin of safety can tend to be a lot less. It’s going to come down to being on your Ps and Qs and Qs and Ps with the tuneup and maintenance. With all of that said, even the Star Trek crew acknowledged their will to “boldly go where no man has gone before” in their mission statement and still rolled the dice like so many of us do.

I'm in Tomball (Northwest Houston). However, I do make it out toward's Austin & Dallas a few times a year. Thanks for the offer.

Another option would be to attend your local track on a test and tune night to talk to owners with the different kits and see them in person. You may even be able to catch a ride down the track to see how each one performs out of the gate and on the top end at the track. Just take a helmet with you.

You would be very happy with the base ESS kit. I promise. A lot of people tell you to buy 1000hp worth of parts but if you're just going to make 650....
I thought I would be happy with 639 whp, but that hasn’t been the case at all. My car still seems very tame to me. Now, here I am 5 years later looking for 900-1000 whp.

I suggest upgrading as much as possible, so that in the event 650 isn’t enough, the setup can support more power without having to redo anything, other than update the tune.

Drama free…what about a good E85r tune, swap those sluggish 3.15 gears to3.55 or 3.73 and get the rear suspension set up? Cheap way to start and see if it will satisfy you.

This is my second S550, the first one was a '18 MT82. I'm already E85, LT, & "CAI". Car came with the 3.55. I like your thinking though.

For me sound is important also. A centri kit sounds bananas. The ESS kit (straight cut gears) with the Tial BOV is just a beautiful thing. I have the trackspec hood vents and its right above the centri unit. Sounds like a jet rolling around town.

Also, at least with wengerd tune the low rpm/partial throttle manors are very nice. Feels basically stock until you put your foot into it.

Even with the quiet gears the SC makes fun noises. I've had more than a few people ask what was under the hood just from hearing the whistle.
