And lots of people switched it back to a live axle for drag racing. The IRS for it was taken from a Lincoln. It was just a parts swap and not a unique design for the Cobra but it worked well.

He also stated it was the first mustang with IRS which is wrong
It’s the first generation Mustang where ALL trims got the IRS. He should’ve clarified that better.

Did you even listen? He simply quoted what was possible from the user manual. This is what he said…

Here is what he actually said about the tune, again did you even listen?. He is spot on too. Installing an intake and tune on an NA GT350 minus E85 is dumb. Super dumb.

Here is what he said about the S2000, I'm not sure what the problem is.
oh man, my apologies good sir…how dare I consider giving my opinion on something on a random message board! To answer your question, yes I listened, and I stand by my statements. That being said, heretofore I shall run my comments by you first, for your approval and/or corrections 😏

I’m not interested in someone showing up to the party when it’s shut down and then telling me how it was and should have been. Especially when so many have been on the dance floor for almost a decade. But to each there own.

He's not a Mustang expert so you can't take anything he says too seriously

I enjoyed watching a guy with millions of subscribers geek out over his new GT350. The oil gen 2 thing is tiresome all around, but I understood his point, even if was an extreme hypothetical example.

Put about 200 miles on an R yesterday and last night. Such a good time taking that thing out.

This dude was super complementary and enthusiastic and people still find a way to complain. It shows that many don't bother to listen. If they do listen they hear what they want to hear, so they can find a reason to be negative. Or they gate keep, which is dumb. The old "I was here first so I'll be the arbiter of what is acceptable.".

I think @wingnutt was just stirring the pot. He seems like diehard GT350 guy so it's all good. Go easy on him 😁

I bet there is more done to that car that he doesn't know about. I think it's got different motor mounts based on the intake - STB clearance. That's the big one that stuck out to me. I'm sure there is more. It has the R splitter. I wouldn't be shocked if it has the R/500/M1 struts. Potentially a new clutch if the motor is out.

Just speculating though.

Had to google that, looks like SVT Cobra was the first.
Yes, I thought it was 1996
...Whatever year they first had the 32v engine.

The DOHC engine and the IRS both came out when I was in college, and they were a big deal in all the car magazines.
Wikipedia says the IRS started with the 1999 Cobra. They could be right. My memory from when I was 20 years old is not perfect. 😅

I think I remember some of the skeptics saying something about roll center or dynamic camber.
The autocross crowd, and maybe some mechanics, said that the issues were because the IRS was an afterthought, and the subframe had to fit the attachment points and clearances for a live-axle chassis. Everything would be different and better if they'd designed it with IRS from the outset.

I certainly haven't found any issues with my S550's IRS.

That video came up as recommended for me so I watched it. I thought it was fun and he really seemed to be excited about the car. We cant expect the guys who arent obsessed like we are to quote the lore perfectly. I am excited to see if he features it more on his channel and uses it to explain aspects of Automotive Engineering, something my sons are starting to show some interest in.
