Even Boss 302 uses this, but why?

These 5W40 or 5W50 are hard to find in our local stores. Since it’s a little cooler for a couple of months, pennzoil platinum full synthetic 5W30 good for now?

I have run 5w30 Pennzoil Platinum almost exclusively and it’s been just dandy.
I’ll get those today just to remove the old oil, plus the oil is on sale too.

Noticed it’s redesigned for turbocharged. Does it matters?

That’s true for all SN+ oils. I believe they added that to the label with the SN+ reformulation. It’s about LSPI prevention.

I’ve used wix xp I believe.. now I’m using amsoil. Says it’s good for 25k interval change. Not going anywhere close to that but just what I’m using
I don't care what anyone says. There is no way I would run 25k on an oil change or filter. Even if the oil itself is invincible, nothing changes cylinder blow by, fuel dilution, contaminant buildup, and condensation that builds up over the course of a year.
That's why I use a slightly better filter... Mobil 1... filters are a slight step up from the FL-500. My guess is they are similar to the FL-820 in filtration and capacity. But for oil, just use a good affordable syn or synblend, and change every 5,000mi or once a year max. I don't care what anyone says, I'll never leave oil in the pan over 7,000mi, imo.

BTW, I use plain old QSUD 5w30, a bottle of Ceratec, and M1 filters. Engine seems quite happy.

I mean, I also have a baffled Moroso oil pan. After putting $15k into the engine I'm not about to argue over a $17 oil filter. I'll find somewhere else to be cheap.
The seal and body of FL820S is a lot bigger than the FL500. No issue with it? O’reilly sell them for $10 here.

I might return these Pennzoil platinum PurePlus for just a platinum or find that ultra platinum.

Platinum PurePlus is the same as platinum.
Thanks man. I guess I misunderstood your comment yesterday lol. I’m just waiting for that FL820S confirmation now. The guys at O’Reilly doesn’t know anything about the filter. All they know is 5-20 and fl500 because that’s what it’s showing on their computer lol.
