Hello fellow FI guys - if I want to do my first oil change on this car at the same time I complete the Procharger install, what oil (and how much) do you guys recommend? Is it the same as advised by Ford, or should I switch to a better option now?

Thanks!

8 quarts.

I would use a quality full synthetic. I like AMSOIL's SS line. As for weight, I would stick with 5w-20 for most situations.

I use Penn Ultra Plat acquired on Amazon along with the Ford filter also acquired on Amazon and I would do the exact same thing if I had any blower.

What does Roush put in their supercharged cars? 5w20. Enough for me.

Would it be detrimental to change the oil after installing the Supercharger?

I just dropped my car off for the Roush upgrade.. I have asked the dealership to switch to full synthetic oil.. I'm sure they will go with motor craft but let's see

I would go with a full synthetic 5w30 if I were you. Just overall stronger film strength and viscosity when the engine is running hotter with added power.
People say thicker oil can alter valve timing since it's oil based, I highly doubt it because the cam phase also uses sensor to determine timing. Plus, your engine oil pressure changes all the time depending how hot the oil is so it won't make any difference in terms of variable timing system.

Changing oil to ones with better shear protection is fine, better oil have additional additive packages that make them resist shear and breakdown. However I would follow the recommended viscosity prescribed by Ford for these motor. The oil pump and motor was designed to pump 5-20 oil to give it the proper flow through the motor and to attain the proper PSI levels. Also thinner oils travels faster through the motor and its parts acting as a cooling system as well as lubrication and shear protection for the parts. It is a myth that lighter oil don't have the same shear protection as heavier weight oils.

Keep in mind rpms as well. If you plan to rev higher than stock, a little thicker oil might be needed. The GT350 requires something like a 5-50. I'm no expert and there may be other reasons for that than because it revs to 8250 but it's worth keeping in mind.

Definitely full synthetic. I am personally partial to Red Line oil as I've used it in all of my sports cars and have never had a problem. I'm putting 5W30 in my procharged '16 only because Lund recommended it. I don't think you can really go wrong with either 5W20 or 5W30. Some people are using some outlandish weights with no problems either.
