Hmm...so a free factory warranty (engine, transmission, rear-end), fits with the stock tower brace, and has a "dual pass" intercooler? And with their claims of "over 200hp increase" we're looking at probably 625-650 hp.

This just became a contender! Can't wait to see what else they can do.

Seems like it could be nice. 200+hp increase at the flywheel, so about 525-550 at the wheels?

I hope I'm wrong but I bet a complete base kit, with a full warranty with obvious specific terms for being covered, is going to be around $7k.

The 2011-2014 Edelbrock's were kind of ugly though; but I know you didn't have to mill the block for clearance on those. I'm thinking it was just a few tapped holes maybe (or I'm confusing that part with the Magnuson)? I can't wait to see what else comes to market; would be nice to see more competition from a lower price standpoint!

I figure we would be closer to the 600rwhp mark, if you base 15% powertrain loss, they are claiming 30 more hp at the crank than roush

Yeah, I would think that the kit would be around 550rwhp based on the calibration that they give you. Once you up the boost or go with a different calibration then kiss that warranty good bye.

I went to a local performance shop to to price out a procharger last month and he just happened to be an authorized dealer for both procharger and edlebrock.

He encouraged me to sit tight for a couple of months if I didn't need it today
to check out the Edlebrock. He thinks its gonna be really nice, really touting the new cooling system it will use.

Hmmmmm. This is interesting. By the time Iam ready to pull the trigger we should know all about this kit and should be readily available.

For city/street driving (not drag racing) I really like this package for two reasons:

1) Due to smaller S/C size, the parasitic loss will be lower than larger sized S/C which produce more HP. This makes it ideal to add enough HP to the car without causing other issues, like belt slipping.

2) I like their new air cooling system for PD system.

Bless all of you looking for 600+ rwhp and associated torque with/without associated mods. I was young(er)(ish) once

I am looking for maybe 600hp at the crank - no more than 500 at the wheels. I think that's a bit much for just bolt ons and I really don't want to go inside for cams, head work, etc.

E-Force, Whipple, and even ProCharger are still considerations for me, but I'm thinking the out of the box E-Force might be closer to my needs and that the 700 (crank) HP they are talking about are Stage 2 or 3 setups. We'll find out soon enough.

While it may be extreme underlie, can a Whipple or ProCharger - or any base line blower be tuned to "underperform" to the levels I am looking for?

Thanks,

Pete

PS
Ahhh...I fondly remember by Edelbrock aluminum Tarantula intake and Holley 650 carb sitting on my 70 vette 350 small block. Brings a tear to me eye. Some of you weren't even born then.

Maybe check with Whipple. They have smaller pulleys available to increase HP, so maybe they also have larger pulley's to decrease HP some. I've never heard of one personally. But most ppl are looking to increase power. So even though you don't see anything about going larger pulley, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If it does, that would be a great route to go. That way if you ever decide you are ready to lay down more power, you can slap the 3.75" pulley back on.

Yes you can put a larger SC pulley on to slow the SC down, run less boost. You can also just use our new calibration and our virtual pulley technology to lower the power. Just slide the tab over on our software with the key on and you can lower the power from 0 to 250hp less. That's technology you can't get anywhere else.
