just imagine what it would actually handle like with the FRPP Track suspension bolted on. Both my GT/PP and EB/PP promptly got the chassis/IRS and diff fixes applied and improved significantly.
SO SO TRUE! I really miss the handling of my Eco with the FRPP suspension package. Remarkably good. I have the base gt stuff now and it is not good. Hopefully the FRPP on the GT will at least have it close to the ecoboost feel.

I wouldn't do the trade of a GT for an ECO boost, but if you want more luxury or just to make a change maybe look at an older CTS V coupe or something. I wouldn't worry so much about the warranty. The GT is a reliable vehicle.

I traded my 18 EB Premium for a 19 GT Premium for one reason. The sound of the Coyote engine. The EB was a great car but the engine sound even with exhaust upgrades just didn't cut it for me.
That's the thing I was thinking about. You'll never get a 4 cylinder to ever sound like a V8, especially not like even the stock base GT. I know a lot of guys have upgraded their exhaust but I have just a plain old base GT and I have to say, the stock exhaust is loud enough for me and I like the sound of it. No raspy crackly sound but a nice pleasant roar when cruising or light acceleration. On a WOT it cranks a lot louder, but it was still sounding better than my old '71 Mach 1 that I had modified with cam, intake, headers, etc. (not to mention tons more acceleration). That Mach 1 required me to fool with the idle mixture just about every day as the atmospheric pressure changed day to day (never had that issue until I had the cam installed). I'm happy to have a factory stock car with lots more power and better reliability because I'm leaving it stock (not to mention not having to worry about voiding the warranty). The only mods I've made is the jacking rails, hood lifts and JLT oil separator, none of which affects the warranty.

I know its only a 4. but this was my full exhaust with downpipe. I was very happy with it, but I ultimately put oem downpipe back on, as my tune wasn't tuned for the downpipe.

Its funny, I was ecstatic with that exhaust, was loud when wot and quiet when cruising. but now that my car is back to running optimal, I dont even care about exhaust sound anymore.

What is the longevity difference stock for stock? Being at a more advanced age, I've owned many vehicles over my years and a common theme from day one has always been, the more cylinders the more mileage I got out of it.

4 cylinders tended to be good for 100-120k miles (160-200km)
6 cylinders got me a bit more (160k miles or 260km)
8 cylinders (I've only owned 5.0s) have gotten me into the 200k mile range (320km)

This is not before the engine died (for the most part), but before I started having serious issues with compression, cooling, cracked heads, etc.

I had many Fox body 5.0Ls that I literally beat the snot out of for years and still drove fairly strong at over 200k miles. Sure, they chucked a bit of blue smoke on hard pulls but overall solid.

Don’t do it. Won’t matter what mods you do or how much horsepower it makes, it’s still an eco boost. The black sheep of the mustang family until the Mach-E came along.

It really shouldn't be, because there's nothing objectively bad about it except maybe the stock tune. It's just missing the theatre aspect, which not everyone really cares about. It's certainly fast enough to get you to "go directly to jail" speeds, so the performance angle isn't super relevant either. I don't want one, because it doesn't appeal to me. But I feel like the worst part of owning it is not the fault of the car itself. The stigma is just horrible.

it’s a weird stigma I get compliments a lot. Just by everyone except mustangowners. Lol the gt guys generally won’t even look at our cars.
I pulled up beside like 7 gt’s at a car meet in the same parking line.

my gf wasn’t feeling good so she was in car on phone for a few. She heard the guys say “look at this shit ecoboost parking by us” she said one guy did comment, nah dude I like it. Talking about grabber color.

anyway, all of them moved their car like two rows away from my car.

lmao

Keep in mind the above gt’s was pretty much all stock, nothing done to them. Some beat up etc. in pure terms of taken care of, mine is really nice. Can’t see why others act that way.

Stigma as practiced on this site (others?) maybe. I see TONS of EB out on the road (some might be V6) and far, far fewer GT. I haven't seen anyone harassed for driving a EB on the road. Now maybe at Car and Coffee events one keeps running into V8 snobs...

My Gotta-have-it Green with gold wheels got lots of positive comments from the C&C passersby but I also had the hood down. I didn't go to the event to get my ego stroked beyond providing a glimpse of an unusual color (among a sea of black on black, red, blue) and uncommon wheel color.

There is nothing wrong with the EB at all. I've driven both, and they can both be fun. Went with the GT because I found one with the three essential ingredients (V8, manual gearbox, top goes down).

If I couldn't get the essential three, I would have looked for an EB with them.

I bought used, not new, that's why the search took a while.
