As I mentioned in the original, I currently have a rental EB Auto droptop, so I'm aware of the power differences, I just wanted a MT, so I've been looking around. I drove through downtown LA today with the auto, and kept thinking how much MORE it would suck with a stick, but I usually try to stay away from LA.

Loved the V8, just need to get a bit closer on the price before the 0%/72 mos. goes away. But I decided if I'm moving from BMW to Ford, I want a V8.

Thanks for the responses though, they are at least amusing, and occasionally educational :-)
Make sure you test drive a Manual too.

The base EB is a bargain but the EB premium is very expensive. From the base EB to the premium EB is almost a $6,000 increase vs $4,000 increase from the base GT to premium GT. A premium EB with PP cost $35K. Not too long ago, the 5.0 premium with track pack was around $38K
Have they gone up a bunch? My Ecoboost Premium with auto was maybe $32k sticker and I paid $28,500 all in (taxes / fees) for it in May, 2015.

I would think the exhaust companies could come up with a way of channeling/funneling the sound in a manner to make the turbo'd engines sound more like a V8 and less like an angry weed-whacker.
4 bangers all sound like weed wackers, but you do the best with what you've got. The best sounding 4 cylinder IMO is the 4C and Fiat Abarth. Both are basically staight pipes after the cats with a little fuel trim trick to make it burble and pop on deceleration.

Yea, STI's BURBLE. It's a characteristic of the boxer engine. Don't mistake it for a V8's RUMBLE though.

It all comes down to personal opinion really. The s550 is a sexy sophisticated ride no matter what. Im a turbo rwd fan so i got and ecoboost. I like messing with turbos and like the sounds they make more than V8s and saw the potential with ecoboost motors. Plus with the cheaper price tag the savings i could throw into suspension, wheel, and tires with an already lighter car. Just weigh your pros and cons and go from there, enjoy:thumbsup:

The one I built was EB premium manual with PP and it came out at $35,200. For that $$ I'd rather sacrifice the luxo items and go base GT.

A 4 cylinder CAN sound really good, Ive driven an STi (dunno if it was 2014 or 2015) but man that thing actually rumbled and sounded really great. I was surprised and wished the EB sounded that good.

The 1.6 ecoboost in the Fiesta ST sounds better than the 2.3 in the Mustang.. I'll leave it at that.

Maybe they'll be able to develop a microchip that will make the 4 and 6 cylinder turbos sound like a V8?

But for now, what would you like for dinner?

1. Prime Dry Aged Rib Eye steak and a bottle of 2007 Caymus Special Selection (GT) or

2. Fish Sticks and a glass of milk? (EB)
Wait. Red wine with red meat?

Lots of arguing here. All three choices are great. Can't go wrong with any of them. I just hate how everyone talks down about the 2.3 and the 3.7 mustangs. When I had the 3.7, lots of people talked down because its only a v6. I'd shut them down by saying "Well since its only a v6, lets race and see how my v6 does." Guess who always ended up winning those races?? ME! haha

The longer a V6 stays in it with a 5.0, the worst it gets. . .

Pending acquisition. . . .
Whatcha think, would you guys buy a car with this damage to the clear coat? Salesguy says "it'll buff right out", obviously I'll check if I pursue it, but it doesn't look like the paint is damaged, only the clearcoat. . .

Then say "ok great!!! Fix it first and I'll buy it."

I once was looking to buy a used car. Found what I liked then took for a test drive. After 20 minutes or so an odd sound was coming from the engine. I got back to the lot and pointed it out to the mechanic they had. They had the audacity to tell me to buy the car first then they would fix it under their warranty. Are you serious??? I said hell no you should fix it before you even sell it regardless of whether I buy it or not!

Needless to say, I left immediately and went elsewhere.

G35 M6 - Want a V8!!
The same old BS from the GT crowd. Gas mileage is the same,? That is a load of crap. I get 22 and I drive like a mad man, the GT gets about 15 when driving hard. That is about 100 miles per tank more with the EB. The EB/PP is the best handling Mustang sub GT350 so for spirited driving the EB/PP is the best choice. 1/2 a second seperates the GT and EB/PP so there is really no difference in 0-60 times which is where most legal driving occurs. Buyers remorse because a few people traded in their EB for a GT? I think the buyers remorse sets in once they realized how much more money they are now spending for a GT.
Trying to justify ur EB purchase I'm assuming.. glad you are happy with it.. I have a v6 and when a big v8 pulls up next to me with the rumbling exhaust.. you feel small.

No way I would drive a 4 banger mustang but that's me.. on another note, I know a guy that went toe to toe with a modded EB going against a 2014 SS.. the SS bareky pulled.. I'll admit, when modded with a 93 tune, they're pretty quick.

People who do that are total idiots and not worth your time. It's one thing to point out facts it's another to put down someone for having a different trim level or engine size than you. That's childish. My first car was a V6 Beretta with 115hp. I slapped a CAI and a flowmaster on it and thought I was driving a racecar. I've grown-up since then now I have a real racecar, but I always remember I started small.
