True but the GT500 has a live axle and is heavier.. if the Z06 had the Z07 package then it's about 40 lbs lighter due to the light Carbon Ceramic rotors. 650 lb of torque on a rear wheel ~3400-3480 lb car (1/4 tank of gas) can get ugly.

They have 65 more HP.. how can it not feel much faster? They run the quarter in the low 12's, about .4-.5 tenths of a sec faster than the 18 5.0 M6 (that's a 3-5 car beatdown). They are faster, just that you will have to live in the upper rpm range to really feel it.
Any car can be fast and just no the 18 GT isn't faster than the GT350 if you're comparing apples to apples. A M6 GT is still slower than a M6 GT350. Most manual purists and those who def tracks there car on the road course will not consider the auto as an option.

I agree with Hack, the GT500 should be a balance of track and power.. Will it be faster than the Redeye at the drags? Prolly not but it will def handle better. Will it be faster than the ZL1 1LE at the road course? Prolly not but it will be quicker at the drags...
The auto perhaps.. but the manual are still low 12 sec cars.. so it should be a good drivers race.. but equal driver the Stingray/GS should be about 1 to 1&1/2 car I guess. Regardless, doesn't take much to beat a stock Vette.. Tune, E85 will edge him out IMO
LOL.. those hero runs are what that, a hero run. Looking at the publications, reviews in good DA the Stingray/GS is about 11-8/9 - 12.2 in the 1/4. Then again, Vettes are really drag cars especially the Grand Sport.

manual vs manual? well the Stingrays are about 1-2 cars ahead of the 6th Gen SS tranny per tranny. Since the 18 GT's is slightly quicker than the 6th Gen SS the Stringray should be half a car to a car ahead I would assume.. after 100, you'll lose since they have more aero.

BlueBeast, would you even consider a GTR since you do a lot of drag racing? It's a great 1/4 car and handles well on the twisties.. Just looks dated, won't have the V8 rumble and all the import fan boys just love the damn thing.
True true.. I know GM advertised 10.9 for the auto and 11.2 for the manual and I'm sure they tested it in good air and a prepped track.. if you combine the hero runs and non hero runs then those times can def. be done in good (not excellent) DA and with a good driver.
