I want the torque of the truck and the HP of the mustang. Someone needs to design a variable length intake manifold.
pretty sure they did. The 18+ has doors in the intake does it not?

I live in Ca so not sure how full E would do emissions wise. I went with the kit cause its carb exempt. I would love to go full E.

I just need a little octane bumb to keep the pinging at bay. Octane booster is out of the question with MMT.
You can go E85 in CA. Just switch to flex and burn though a tank of 91. Then back to the stock tuning and 91 octane prior to your smog check.

The 15 and up have a valve that makes the runner smaller at the entrance to the head. It is not a variable length runner. It's mostly for low speed and idle emissions.

You can run a few gallons as a cheap race fuel but I wouldn't go beyond a E25-E30.

Hell if he is doing this, then I am good running a gallon of this to a tank of 91 to help with Octane for my Power pack 2 kit.
One gallon of E85 in a tank of 91 E10 will only get you 91.6 octane E15.

I've reached out to a lot of tuners. All say we are safe at E30, but none will back it up or allow a quote.

My Son is an engineer at Cummins so rubs elbows with other engine engineers, his response was there is a built in safety and he would be OK with running E30 in a non flex vehicle. Possibly more on individual versions.

i started running an E30 blend in my stock tune car a few days ago and i will say that i not only picked up a couple MPH trap speed in the 1/4 mile using the car's timer (vs. my previous best on the street on 91) but the car pulls noticeably harder throughout the RPM range and shifts smoother too. just seems to like it

Sure, but you need a tune to maximize the E30 capability, primarily in ignition advance.

Well the issue is a lot of states don't even get 93, such as Cali. Also the ethanol will cool the fuel charge ever so slightly allowing the car to hit timing targets even stock as rated hp is at 93 octane. I would run 2 gallons of E85 and 2 gallons of VP MS109 which would get you to 94+ octane. I run this in my E92 M3.

Mixed or pump? Cause all the pump E30 is like 89 octane AFAIK.

If you want Octane just grab a 5 gallon jug of Sunoco GT 260 (100oct) - it's legal in 47 (not Cali). It'll run you $12/gal. $9 if you buy a 54 gallon barrel.
Assuming your E85 really is 85% to get E30 put 4 gallons of E85 and 11 gallons of 93 (e10) and you end up with 95 octane.

My calculator says 96.2.

So you get a 3 point jump in octane for 8 bucks if you use pump E85. It would cost 48 bucks if you used the Sunoco race fuel

Ok maybe Ill try 1.5 gal then. If I can get at least 1 full point It might work. Seems like the timing in this tune is a bit aggressive for 91.

edit: I'll do 2 gallons to 14 gallons of 91. Pretty sure the Ford Performance tune can handle it. Handle it a hell of a lot better than detonation I know that.

I found a station near me that has 93 octane with 30% ethanol. I just started using this, prior I was only able to get 91 octane. I figured that this couldn't be bad as it's just a little higher octane, and how can that be bad when ford says to use premium.

Lambda is lambda regardless of what fuel. If you're targeting to a lambda reading, changing fuel to something like E30 will require more fuel to reach the same lambda. . So you should see an increase in injector duty cycle. Ford trims the fuel 0-15% (E0-E15). Therefore, running E30 it'll be running lean at WOT.
