Gen 3 E85 tune not right.

My car is headers, ported mani/TB and pmas. My original tunes were 93 and "race gas" final revisions on those were done before I had headers. After headers the car ran even better. Maf flow was in the 53-54# range on race gas.

I'm now on my 4th E85 revision. The car is driving great but not making the power it should. It feels like I'm on 93 still. My tuner said check the fuel and it tested 55-60%. I had buddy hook me up with some pro E85 and everything seems the same... Maf flow peaks around 47#s. If everything is scaled right, that's close to 60hp difference right?

Also, once I go wot, the knock sensors show 0. Timing drops like crazy and then spikes back up.

Same here^. Whats your timing degrees at WOT at like 6500-7500 RPM?

Maybe try datazap.me for uploading your logs. Graphs are heaps friendlier than Excel files.

Mine hits a max of 31.8 at ~3400 rpms and carries that all the way to 7800. Runs like a raped ape! It's PBD/E85 tuned but still have stock headers/cats though.

Wish I could say the same...

It looks like you have 32 degrees all the way up to the shift point. What intake do you run? Your MAF seems like stock intake numbers.
Pmas, ported mani/TB and headers.

Without knowing the optimal cam timing for your combo, I can’t make any comment on either that or the MAF numbers.
The bit where the spark drops to 0* BTDC is all to do with “tip-in”.
That’s the hardest part for a tuner to get spot on.
On the bright side, it takes something like 0.3 seconds from the moment you hit WOT until the 32* of spark comes back.
It’s not showing any knock because 0* is the actual commanded timing in the tune. It’s tricky, the car is moving into optimum power mode and it quite simply can’t do it in an instant.
As to why the apparent drop in MAF numbers, no idea. Failing cat maybe?

Trap speed comparison would show a 60 hp difference. Did you log maf counts in same da/weather? What was your 93/race fuel tune timing like. It should feel butt loads stronger in 1500-3500 rpm range (normal driving) versus 93.

Glad to hear you got the tune fixed up. What actually needed adjustment in the tune in case anyone else runs into a similar issue down the road?
