Is it safe to use it without a dedicated tune.

I pumped 7 gallons into my half full tank, Lambda looks good. I did a quick 2nd gear pull to 6000 and it is real rich. .77 lambda.
Cruise and idle are hovering around 1.00

I think it will be safe to go to a full tank of it.

Just the 7 gallons have increased the lower RPM torque.

I don't understand why my truck (5.0) is flex and the Stang is not

AFR will be way off and performance will actually not be great with no tune as it's not optimizing timing. You also have a 17 so you'd need upgraded injectors in addition to tune. I would drain or at the very least no pulls just putz around until almost empty and hope for the best.

I data logged it and everything looks good.

Computer is giving it -10 degrees of knock. AFR' is fine. Hovering around 1.00

The fact it is going .77 rich at WOT tells me the injectors are large enough.

I will do some more digging

But they aren't large enough, you need a tune and upgraded injectors to run E85 on a 17 or older coyote.

Can't wait to see the outcome of this one when he gets a full tank of E85 in without the tune.

You are still on a mix. Once the e concentration increases it's going to run worse. Correct AFR on gas is 14ish, on e closer to 10. I wouldn't be surprised if misfire cel soon after full fill up as well. Just food for thought.

You guys may be correct. But lambda is not AFR lambda is stoich and the car is hovering at 1.00 which is stoich. So the computer is correcting and adding fuel. The things you guys are warning me about are the same concerns I have. But I'm not seeing it in the logs.

I find on many forums the stock injectors are fine with the stock manifold.

Crap, when did Lund stop taking phone calls?

I've seen a few people say the Stock tune will adjust up to E30 so you my have deluded it enough that youre okay. I would NOT do that again though.

Most likely due to people like yourself, lol.

You are correct though about the stock injectors supporting e85 with the stock manifold only for 15-17 cars. There is a reason though why you need a tune to run flex or straight e85. If you could just put e85 in the tank without a tune and safely drive on it, it would say you could do so in the owners manual.

It does run better so I will get a tune for it.

Ford made the F 150 5.0 flex fuel so it boggles my mind they didn't give the mustang flex capability.

15-17 stock injectors are fully capable of running E85 and tuners will gladly tune for them.
Correct, as long as you have the stock manifold only. Any other manifold (Boss, 18, CJ, etc.) And you will need to upgrade to LU47 injectors minimum.
