I used the Steeda Bearings and I bought the cup tool.

Its a bitch of job to get the old ones out and the new ones in. If you can get the control arms off the car, I'd happily pay a shop to replace the bushings with the bearings. Or just pay somebody to do the entire job. We destroyed one control arm in the process (used heat, which annealed the temper on the forged aluminum control arm... don't do that). You CAN buy new control arms from Ford as repair parts, and they will come with fresh rubber bushings installed if you want to go that route.

Find where your local racers and autocrossers go for shop work. I wouldn't use a dealer unless someone had a gun to my head.
Yeah dealers suck too. They told me I needed a new rack and pinion for a weird front end noise I had.

what was the actual issue you might ask?

A speed sensor. It was being yanked on when the wheel was turned. And finally broke.
Replaced it and changed the mounting hole it was in on the strut and the noise has been gone since. lol.

they wanted the 3k for the repair until my warranty company for my car denied it to me having an aftermarket exhaust. Lol

My car feels fine, unless it crosses a solid painted line, the edge of outside lanes for example.

I have miss matched tires, nitto g2 in rear and continental extreme contact sports in the front. Probably not the best idea but I don’t really think it’s that huge of a deal or is it?
Allot of people run same type miss matched tires like me. I have Zero issues but I keep the pressures the same 32psi. Do you have a friend who has a mustang which would swap tires for a few days to rule out tires?

Hey guys. Following up from my last post, but does bad suspension always have to make noise?

I haven’t had the chance to go to my parents house yet to get it checked out, but does bad suspension always have to make any sort of noise?

I guess I’m worried if I push the car hard something will break.

I looked about a month ago when I was there last, and everything looked good. Yanked on the wheels 6 and 12 o clock, 9 and 3 o clock, and no noticeable movement.

a lot mentioned bad vertical links/toe link bearings as a possibility but I guess I’m just afraid of something breaking suddenly? What are the chances of that?

my car makes zero noise at all besides a semi noisy clutch. I guess I’m just one to be paranoid but how bad will it truly get before something breaks?

i plan to go check it all out on Saturday.
You have a mustang, having a bad suspension and feeling every bump with noises is completely normal, don’t even worry about it. I have a 2020 driven like a baby and it does all of the above. Only way around it is an upgraded suspension either magna ride or even bags honestly

Just looking to update this post. Getting my rear lower control arms replaced tomorrow. Bushings are absolute TOAST. Car pulling all over the road may just be completely gone tomorrow. :)

Holy crap Batman. Those look like they have 200k miles and 20 years old. Yikes. Are you going back OEM on the bushings?

Yeah they’re just being replaced with moog replacement. They could get them in same day and have it done same day.

I am not sure why those bushings look so bad

How did it go? I’m currently still chasing a clunk just like you only over lane dividers. I’m currently swapping out my vertical links and toe links and I just replaced my sway bar end links and sway bar bushings. It only makes noise over those lane dividers and it doesn’t make a sound at all on flat roads or if I’m coming to a stop or taking off.

Let me know if any of that fixes it.
Are your diff bushing torn at all?

Did you verify the 4 each craddle bolts, LCA inboard and outboard bushings?

Something came up for work so I won’t be able to finish installation until Friday so hopefully it works. My diff bushings look good actually but I’ll check again. I noticed that I hear some very light rattle noise when I hit my stock toe link with a plastic hammer. If these dont fix it I’m going to start changing out bushings on my knuckle.

Interesting note tho was after I replaced my sway bar end links and bushings, the noise cannot be heard over 45mph or so. It was very faint at high speeds but now I seem to not hear it as much or at all at higher speeds around 45mph.

Not hearing it at all on flat roads, take off, stopping, or turning. Only bumps in the road that are sharp. Dips in the road don’t trigger it at all only bumps.

I’ll have to check more.
I just had my rear lower control (spring cradle)
arm replaced and they didn’t mention anything else.

it’s super strange. It’s only over the little lane dividers at slow speeds

How about, while driveing on the highway, drive on the side rumble grooves which warns you that your driving on the side pull over lane to see if it makes the noise?

Nope, it oddly enough only does it on lane dividers at very low speeds. Doesn’t make the noise on speed bumps or anything, past I’d say 30mph?

That is odd but I would love the challenge to isolate the cause. To bad your not local.
