I'm hearing a clunk in my passenger-side front suspension when I go over bumps or change lanes, or when I shift either from drive to reverse. I asked my mechanic to check the wheel bearing, sway bars, control arms, and bushings. They found that I need to replace the front rearward control arms. I installed the FP control arm kit 2.5 years ago and did the FP struts, BMR springs, Steeda camber plates, and subframe support about 1.5 years ago. I'm getting a second opinion because it's hard to believe those parts didn't last longer.

Yeah that’s interesting coming from the front. Get under it with a pry bar and start messing with stuff. Check I’m thinking my noise may be coming from my toe link to knuckle bushing now because there is metal I believe on the inside of the bushing and if I change it to a spherical link it may eliminate the noise. I’m just not sure. If you get any good news please let us know

I’ve had a clunk up front since I installed (only like 1500 miles ago) my minimum drop springs on FP dampers and steeda front sway bar. I’ve triple checked everything I installed and still clunk going over speed bumps and when backing out of garage on flat ground barely moving. I got so worried about it I took mine to a performance mustang specialist/race car mechanic and he went over everything I did. All he could find was some wear at the bottom of the front dampers where the spring was touching metal perch. Looks like the ford performance rubber stop on the bottom kinda squished out. I was in his shop the entire day with him and looked and saw what he was talking about on the damper. It’s like it’s making a noise when it unloads or something. I saw a couple marks on my steeda front sway bar on the ends but not convinced it’s touching anything. I’ve given up and just have to live with it but I hate it because my neighborhood has speed bumps and it drives me mad.

I have some play in this bushing on both sides. The bushing is pretty beat.
What is the best method of replacement? Replacing just the bushing or replacing the whole RLCA? I cannot really find it anywhere to purchase the whole assembly online.

In about a week or so I plan on replacing this bushing. It’s the Knuckle to toe link bushing. The left one is the old one and the right one is the new one. I got under my car the other day and stuck my face right into this bushing and it looks a little chewed up and I’m wondering if it’s giving any sort of play so that I’m hearing this clunking. It’s weird if I hit a dip like into a sewer plate it doesn’t make the noise it’s only when it goes over a small bump.

Had mine changed last week. I’m 100% sure mine is up front and sway bar related. I think the end links are to blame. I am going to try some after market steeda end links and see if that does anything.

End links will clunk if they’re not torqued enough.

I’ve had so many issues with my adjustable Steeda ones. I tightened the ever ending shit out of them last time and haven’t had any issues for a few months. So irritating

For me, since the metals screws torque into aluminum, unless otherwise stated, I would never used loctite BUT; I do apply Torque seal and check every time my car is on jacks.

Interesting I’ve never see that product. I’ll check it out.
in the past when checking my factory end links is it’s hard to get tight; I get them as good as I can.
Is there an end link that is better than the Steeda?

The inboard camber link bolts can be difficult to tighten and tirque, but it can be done (Torquing). Their are good choices. I did replace a set I installed due to clunking and weard cornering feel. I installed AAD Toe Arms, Camber Links and vertical arms due to they use different bearings/bushing and Adjustment tabs for alighnment which so far have been flawless but, I haven't heard anything negative from Steedas parts but would ask around. Again, their are good choices of different manufactures. And yes, every single bolt and nuts have Orange Torque Seal for instant verification for movement. Good Luck

Any better experiences with your upgrades yet?

This clunking really is going to drive me nuts.

I’m not who you’re asking but my knuckle to toe bushing were torn at 7k miles on my car and I replaced them with an option from beefcake racing (mechanic’s suggestion product over the ford racing). I’d read horror stories about getting the old ones out and the new ones in and paid a mechanic at the racetrack to do it. It was a 1.5 hour job for him while I waited and shot the shit with him.

After 3 hours trying to remove them with hand held press, I took to shop to press out and in done.
