Mine doesnt have the sensor but has the hole.Here is a look at the 16+ diff covers with temp sensors.
The sensor is to the left of the drain plug. It does not go all the way through/into the oil.
I grabbed this one to make a custom cover, larger capacity with cooling features.

I don't know the answer, but you can probably find it here: https://cardiagn.com/ford-mustang-2015-2018-service-repair-manual-wiring-diagrams/Insead of selling my track car Im building up my new diferential w torsen dif and 3.73 gears w the auto flange.. and as I track the hell of my car I would like to have the sensor but I dont know how to install the pigtail wire on the main harness... on other post on this forum I found the parts and I have my Diff out.... someone know how to install the pigtail wires? my car Is ready to become the guinea pig!
