Hey guys.
I have a 2018. Mustang EB Premium.
My rear 3.31 differential started making some nasty noises and I decided to replace it with a 3.55 Torsen.

I noticed that the new diff I got has a temperature sensor installed on it and now I want to hook it up and I'm looking to do it in a factory way.

The '15-'17 and '18+ have different wiring and pinouts, but I was able to find some info, but I still don't fully understand what the line from the sensor to the C264 connector looks like (C264 is located behind the driver's kickplate)

Maybe anyone knows what's that C248 connector is and where it is located?
Or maybe someone has pics of this wiring on a 2018+ car?

Any info would be helpful

Thanks!
Are you sure this diagram is for 2018+ vehicles?

I also found this picture of 2015 Mustang rear subframe with a piece of harness that ends with what looks like a 2-pin connector outside of the car and I did find it on ebay.

Not sure it helps, but I just had my cradle out of my 2015 and there was no harness like in your picture above. Interested to see what you find out about where this circuit joins the main bundle though.

The short jumper harness is the easy part. The connector it plugs into is part of the body harness. I have all the components but it still doesn't read a temperature. Even have an '18 instrument cluster and used Forscan.

What connector and what pins did you connect it to?
If you have '15 car, it's very likely that you'll need to wire it all the way to the PCM.

Do you have any additional pics or maybe part numbers from the rear harness?
It goes in the same loom as the parking aid sensors?
I'm not getting any luck finding it on ebay yet.

Yeah my engine harness is probably missing the wire. I'll check for a number when I get home. It will only be the engineer part number so it might not help. I believe only performance package GT's from '16 up came with the option.

The harness tag # is 14A411. I bought it from Lee C auto parts. He has one from a GT350 listed now. Probably the same but has an extra connector for the cooler. Doesn't branch off from the back up sensors or tailights. Comes from above the axle.

I've finally found it!
2018+ harness P\N is JR3T2B572DF

It goes from subframe to the connector under rear left passanger seat.
2018+ cars have factory wiring to PCM from that point.

Did you end up getting the harness and making it work? I have a 19 gt and was thinking about wiring up the sensor but we'll see

Yes, I confirm that the wiring matched the factory one with an addition of temp sensor connector.

It wasn't very convenient to swap the harness without removing the subframe, but it is possible, just takes an hour or two under the car.

After that I changed As Built parameter in the dashboard control module using Forscan.
It activated the gauge on the dashboard and everything works just fine now.

The only nuance, the lower threshold of temperature is about 50 degrees Celsius so you can only see the gauge indicator starts moving only after 30-40 minutes of driving.

I tried to figure out how to change the lower and upper limits of temperature gauges, but unfortunately couldn't find any information online.

Nice, once enabled in forscan you can view it under the gauge detail tab correct? Should be below a/f ratio and above cylinder head temp
Also, any tips on getting that 22 pin connector inside the cabin?

Yea, I've got digital dash and I can just pick up to 3 gauges from the list and axle temp appears in the list once activated.

Getting that 22pin connector to the place is actually the easiest part.
You'll only need to take the lower rear seat cushion and trunk center fabric liner piece. Couple of reattachable clips is all that holds the harness.

I would agree that’s true for normal driving, but adding torque or making the diff work ‘really’ shortens that time.

I don’t think you get many roundabouts over there, but once the engine has warmed up, two or three hard accelerations coming of a roundabout and letting it run up to the end of third (and maybe a bit of fourth) will have it registering a full segment or more :like:

My commute is only 7.5 miles, and on some days (traffic dependant), it can be off the stop by the time I get home.

Being in the U.K., it’s not like I’m starting from a particularly high ambient temperature either … lol
