I finally got some closure today on my deck Lid Panel. After being told by the service manager that Ford doesn’t do warranty for fit unless it is 3/8” or more I went to the owner ( small dealership ) He said that the he would make it right and set up an appointment at a local body shop. While discussing with him I kept on hearing “trunk lid “ adjustment. I called and told him it is the “deck lid panel “ that is off and the trunk lid is perfect. I suggested that I bring it in to him so I could show him exactly what was off since he couldn’t see it in my pictures. Long story short we popped the two plastic covers in back of the panel, removed the 4 screws, and were able to move just enough to make it look ok. ( I had already done this at home to see if there was room for adjustment, but did not want to force it ) So after all this, it took 5 minutes to fix. Two things, dealers get bashed a lot ( well deserved mostly ), but my dealer was willing “ to make it right” . Second, I was lucky there was enough play to make the adjustment. Time to enjoy the car now.
I will have to try and pop mine off and look at it. Knowing it is there and off drives me a little crazy cause once you see it there is no unseeing it. Seems like it is off about a 1/4" or more on the left side sticking out vs the right side seating what looks like, perfectly.

Once you take the screws out the holes will show you whether you have room to adjust. Good luck.

Pics would help here on the solution that worked, at least of the back side. I hate to pop off the wrong thing. My situation is exactly like Vertex. And strange enough I have seen multiple 2022 Mustangs with this same issue. Some dude not working out that left arm enough on the line.

This is how mine came in early 18, the trunk was several millimeters too far to the pass side. ( but couldn't get a good pic of that) but check out those door dents!!! ( they are >outies< instead of innies) and check out that nasty door to fender alignment! I will admit the dealer fixed all this stuff for me, although it took them a while.

I actually repaired mine myself. Removed the tail light and adjusted the fit with a couple of rubber grommets. The tail light fit is definitely the problem. Photo to follow. Cheers!

this post explains it all

I went through 3 deckilids on my '19 GT and gave up on the 3rd one, decided to live with it - proper panel alignment isn't a big priority on the Mustang line
Well if you get tired of it not being aligned, you could trim the mount tabs back enough to allow it to be installed 1/4" over in the direction needed. Everything can be trimmed, adjusted to move a panel left or right or a front fender adjusted to properly align gaps with the hood etc. Good Luck

If I still had the car, I might have spent more time fixing this. I sold it and bought a GT350. The deck lid is perfect but It has other panel alignment problems 😑

Well, if those problems become to where you cannot live with them, fix them during the winter, take you time for they can be fixed. Good luck
