Detroit School of the Blind is unable to churn out enough interns to keep Ford Quality Team fully staffed.
DSotB has to share with the NFL/NBA/MLB to fill the Officials slots, so it makes sense the Ford QA dept is understaffed

it is, but the Pre-sales Prep team probably hasn't a clue to even go back into the Parts department and ask for the box parts sitting unclaimed. I guess the front splitter is a tad too big to overlook so easily.
it helps that they strap it to the passenger seat :)

Berkshire Hathaway and their trains are a joke. Rail service sucked well before this supply chain stuff. They need to get customers cars on trucks and delivered to dealers rather than wait for unit trains to fill up. Not one to be political but one thing we learned the past few years is the sheer incompetence of this administration. If there manufacturers of chips were in the US we would be fine. But when we rely on China for almost all manufacturing this is what we get. As always it’s the consumers who are left holding the bag every time. Sad.
You do realize that these are private businesses that make these decisions, not the government? The private sector lobbied hard during the Nixon administration to open up trading agreements with China. Now, I completely agree we need to control our critical infrastructure right here in the USA, but government did not cause this problem.

Well guys, unfortunately- I’m out.

I didn’t find a different Mach 1 or switch to a totally different car.
While it’s true that I was frustrated - ordered on 10/15/21 and never moved beyond “confirmed order”, I was prepared to wait it out.

My first car was a ‘68 GT, and since I’m 63, I thought my last car should be a Mustang.
But not just any Mustang - a Mach 1.
I’ve never special ordered a car before, so this was an extra treat for me.
Handling Package, fancy stereo, rear seat delete, leather Recaro’s on and on.

…. then I got a call from my Doctor … I’m stage 3 cancer.
So instead of waiting for my car to be built, I’m waiting in line at the hospital….. guess it wasn’t meant to be.

Since I don’t know if I’ll be around before I could pay off the car … I bowed out.
The Sales Manager was very understanding, getting my whole $500 deposit back. He even said he would like to keep the order open, and after the car comes in - he would let me take it for a long test drive. Very thoughtful, but then again, I thought it would be hard to pry my hands off the steering wheel. I told him it was up to him, but I wouldn’t be taking the car. I told him how everyone is chomping at the bit for an HP car and he would have no trouble selling it.
But in the end, it was cancelled.

Still hoping everyone gets the car they ordered.

Do a burnout for me, if you think about it.

Stay on top of your health, so you can enjoy your car for a long, long time.

I’ll stop back by from time to time.

Peace out.
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. You will be in my prayers and I hope you beat this evil cancer.

the root cause of all problems is govt, especially ours

From what I’ve read/heard the S650 will be released as a 2024 model. So either there will be a full 2023 Mustang production year or an extended 2022 run. I’d prefer the latter, and hoping for the Mach 1 to be part of it.
I don't think they can call cars produced in 2023, 2022 MY, so it will probably be a short '23 run and an early 2024 MY introduction.

Just changed my order (originally confirmed 2/23). Went from 600a, non HP to 700a with HP. Figured if It’s gonna be a long wait, might as well shoot for the moon. I was assured that it won’t send me back to the bottom of the line so we’ll see.

I’m prepared not to see it until the end of the year. Gives me more time to save. I’d much rather wait a little longer and ford get it together and get the cars done for people that have been waiting forever like yourself

Man, if that EG Mach 1 was a 6 speed I would jump on it just to avoid this seemingly endless wait. Went to the first Cars and Coffee of the year last Sunday (in NH) and now I've lost all patience. The wait was much easier when there was snow on the ground...
It is a 6 speed manual. Go get it.

Yikes. I’m placing a deposit on a different model, just in case my Mach 1 order takes way too long.

Their description is wrong, look at the pics. It's an auto, sadly.
I missed that. I am surprised the description is wrong. Still a nice looking car.
The spoiler looks good without the gurney flap. I may ask my dealer to not put it on the car. I might remove the extra splitter, too. I can put them on when I go to the track with it. That would only be a couple times per year.

I thought about changing my order to 700A and I was told that the order adjustment would be treated as a new order. Good Luck!

I was told that changing options was no problem, until you get scheduled, then it's too late. Now it might be an issue if they just grabbed a bunch of orders with the option that you changed to, they might not do that again for a while. But, as I see it, there is really no rhyme or reason to how they are picking retain orders out of the queue.
