Well, im 6'6" @ 330 and have the Recaros. They were very tight in the beginning, now, 2400 smiles later, they are very snug and perfect. the bolsters do give a bit after a while is my feeling.

I have the leather seats in my 2016. I went that direction since I'm in Florida and thought the AC seats would be nice. I've made the trip to and from MN 3 times and and have never gotten out of the car sore. I just put an order in for a new 17/18 and at this time plan to stick with the recaros even if they come out with the comfort seats again since the car will be more track focused. However, I did run my car at Road America and several autocrosses and I thought they did pretty well considering what they were and stock seat belts. My previous car had 5 pt harness and fixed racing seats. I'm 5"9" and 160.

My wife has a nice comfy car. I prefer the recaros. I have them in my Evo and love them there also...but, i am thin (5' 11, 165 lbs) and they fit me well.

I got the leather seats. I'm 6'4" and 230 and I was worried that the Recaro would be too tight and uncomfortable. The Recaro worked very well at the GT350 track attack, but I wouldn't want to have it in my car that I use as a daily driver in the nice months of the year. The seat heaters are really great as well as the coolers. I'm glad I have them.

I'm planning to buy a custom aluminum seat that is made to fit me and swap seats for track events.

I was really on the fence about the seats too. In my boss the Recaros were the most comfortable seats I have ever sat on. Having said that the Recaros in the GT350 are totally different not in a bad way but wasn't what as comfortable as the boss. Now take that with a grain of salt because I was only sitting and not driving and maybe over time that would change. One weird thing, I felt my knees were too high while sitting and couldn't adjust.

The convience pkg are extremely comfortable seats and having the cooling and heating options was a no brainier plus the alcantara material will hold you pretty damn good.

I think the convenience package seats are very comfy and they would seem to hold you in place pretty well. The only thing that I would miss with the Recaro's is heated seats. I wonder how hard it'd be to put heated seats in the Recaro's....

Being that the Recaros are cloth and not leather, they don't feel as hot or cold as leather does. I've driven in both climates and never noticed an issue with the Recaros. My Audi has leather and feels a lot hotter and colder. Now, getting in and out of the Recaros is another story...

I've sat in the Recaros and they are fine.

What I am finding though, is that there are a number of cars selling at MSRP or lower that have the Convenience Package instead.

While I prefer the Recaros, I can't see paying a premium for them.

Thanks for all the great opinions!
The Recaros are considered the standard seat, as it's the seat that comes with the Base model. So you could say you're actually getting more bang for your buck with what Ford positions as an upgraded leather seat with the Convenience Package.

Having said, you should get what you want.

In my case when I was looking at '16s, the Tech Package cars (leather comfort seats) were far more available than the Track Package (Recaro) cars, which were rare in comparison. But I really wanted the Recaros and a Track Pack (even before I learned about the '16 Tech pack's heat issue on track), it took me almost 8 months to get the exact car I wanted, but it was worth the wait!

It is all in the hip size, flesh and fat compress and squish, bones do not.
I sat in the Recaros for a while in the showroom and for me there was a pinch
point right on my hips that I could not bear....yet in two other places the seat
had a little extra room. Very personal, seats they are.... Best bet is to sit in each one
for 20 minutes or so and see how you feel.

I got the sofa seats due to the pinching from the Recaros, and since 90% of the
miles will be on the street, not track, sofa seats will suffice.

Some solutions are to get the sofa seats and buy a set of Gt350 Recaros (or aftermarket)
as others have said, and use those at track time. Another helper for the sofa seats
is thigh boosters that you place in the seat for track time. Now that does not help
the upper body but it helps some. Someone makes those for Vettes called angel wings
of all things......

A lot of people find the sofa seats are too high very little head room. However Ford isn't offering the sofa seats for the rest of the 2017 model year??????

"Going all the way back to my 1980 VW Scirocco S"

I love my Recaros. Almost as much as I did my 81 Scirocco S. Have been looking for another MK1 for a few years now. Rare bird these days. Sorry to hi jack the thread but buy the Recaros

Glad I ran across this thread. I feel admittedly uneducated that there was an option on seats. I found a black GT350 on the lot near me and sat in it. I'm 6'4 235lbs and they felt VERY comfortable. I didn't even notice they were not Recaros, but instead just bolstered leather seats.

My wife complained about the passenger side that to get someone in the back you had to flip the back of the seat forward, but then slide it electrically all the way to the front and then back again once the rear occupant was back there (going to be primarily my 5mo old kid).

I found a dealer nearby that has a Lightning Blue GT350 on the way with Recaros. I was almost ready to buy until I found out it had different seats. My kid will probably be in this car 70% of the time it is on the road so getting to the back is a priority, but not sure its worth giving up heated/cooled and memory seats.

Also speaking to the dealer it looks like the leather seats are gone for good as he did not see them as an option for the 2018 order packet.

Anyone purchase one and regret not getting the other for any reason? 95% of the miles in this will be on-road, with very few on track unfortunately.

I would say if the car is mainly used for street / daily driving, get the leather seats. If its more of a track car, get the Recaros. With that said, I have the leather seats and think they are great.

The leather seats will work fine for any activity. I have no issues autocrossing my Tech Pack, and I have had a couple of seasoned instructors (15-20 years experience) take my car around the course. They were surprised at how much support the "sofa seats" provide for racing.
Also, if you are going to have kids in the back, the leather seats are a must have option.

Anyone seen a LB with white stripes and convenience seats for sale?

that color combo has me hooked. All I can find are solid color or black stripes with the convenience seats, or white stripes w recaro
