Oh absolutely! I will never argue the LX isn't portly, and it drives as such. But the hate strictly on the basis that the chassis is old is what I was referring to.

There were updates between 1993 and 2004, but it was mostly the same underneath. Lots of parts interchange, etc.

I love Ford, but all this hate towards the FCA LX chassis is a bit unwarranted. Didn't ford start the Fox chassis in 1979 and essentially keep it the same through 2004?

I've sat in both. The sofa seat fit perfectly. The rigid bolsters on the Recaro were what was causing the problem.

Thanks for all the input guys! Looks like I need to find something on the lot or hope Ford releases the convenience seats again. Not looking good for the latter though unfortunately.

This was brought up in another thread but I wanted to try to catch the attention of more people who own this type of seat. Finally got to sit in one of the Recaro-equipped Shelbys yesterday and it was beyond uncomfortable. It doesn't help that I'm 6'4 and 235. It fit my 5'9 120lb wife perfectly...

Is that common with the convenience package seats? Recaros don't fit so the leather was the obvious choice, but not if they fall apart quickly.

That seems to be the only way to find them now. I looked on Ford's site and even cars I know are leather equipped are listed on their site now as Recaro cloth. There is a Grabber Blue one about 30 min away that has the leather I've even sat in and it shows as Recaro on their inventory.
