Ford only ordered so many seats for MY17, they didn't think the convenience package would be what every dealer ordered. They will be back in 18, but probably get some updates because the cooling didn't work well. Recaro's sit lower gives more headroom. I'm only 6' but have no headroom with conv seats, had to lean back. So I swapped seats with new pro car, now lots of headroom but manual. All the new ford seats have the seat base made of stamp steel pan and you sit on 2" of foam with no suspension. Remember when seats had springs and moved with you Plus you can't lower them because the rail system is attached to the pan.

What I find funny about this is I read so many people posting how grateful they are that the car is only available in a 6-speed because automatics are for wussies yet I see a lot of people who want this pure track car to have plush, non-track seats :p

Just an observation. I love manuals and have driven them all my life and I get the seat comfort thing (I'm older). :D
What about the guys who want a Shelby but aren't interested in tracking the car? I use my GT350 almost every day, and at least twice a week as a way to get to work. I need the convenience package (aka tech package in '16s) for the comfort. The Recaros aren't practical for everyday use, IMHO. Just getting in and out of the car was a hassle in the 2017 Shelby I test drove.

The Recaros aren't that good for track use, unless you add a roll bar and harnesses. And even then they aren't the best. The Recaros aren't really good for the street or the track, frankly. At least the couch seats are good on the street.
