I have an 8 inch bezel I am about to post to sell you could combine with this unit. You could use the two combined with a $1200 kit from 4-d tech to get to a sync 3 setup. This would end up being cheaper than the full kit from them which starts at $1899.
You don’t have to go back that far. I did this exact swap in my Evo and it was a 1 hour job to replace the base head unit with the OEM touchscreen one. The harness was swapped with a factory one that came with the unit. It has most of the features the sync 3 does. Ford has just made this...
Bump for information as to the location to connect the plenum temperature sensors. Anyone have advice where this goes? The cable I have from ford has to be spliced somewhere but no instructions on where
I have a 2016 track pack gt350 and recently bought the upgrade kit from 4D Tech. Everything is installed and appears to work except for the silver controls (traction control etc) on the bottom of the bezel. Steering wheel controls still work. 4D says their OBD2 program that comes with the kit...
The Evap core is being replaced under warranty. They have to remove the dash to do it...was thinking I could get the sensor replaced at the same time. Anything else i could deal with to make it work better?
So no real issues with normal day to day function? What do you notice that isnt quite right. Honestly as long as it functions as well as the base unit I am ok with it.
What issues have come up with the climate controls? The dealer said they had another customer that did a similar upgrade (do not know if it was Infotainment's system or not) and the AC shut off for long periods and could not be turned back on. Issue stopped when they returned it to the base...
Was discussing with a local Ford dealer about having my 4 inch base (I have a 2016 trackpack gt350) Sync radio upgraded with Infotainment's 8 inch touch screen kit and the showed me a bulletin from Ford (see attatched) stating issues have been experienced with the electronics by some customers...
I am a little different from the crowd here. I grew up racing Karts and eventually made it into low formula single seaters in my late teens. From that I prize handling over power. Because of that, up until now I had never owned an American "muscle" car of any type. My last cars before this...
My wife has a nice comfy car. I prefer the recaros. I have them in my Evo and love them there also...but, i am thin (5' 11, 165 lbs) and they fit me well.
I looked at the camero when i was shopping. I didnt like the seating position or the visibility. The interior i thought was better in the Ford and i liked the looks of the Ford better. It was the visability that killed it really.
