Yes I agree. And I'm sure there's more to be had also. Early on I was told to leave the 3.15s in, I believe the majority of people should stay with the 3.15s on an auto. But don't think for minute you won't see me changing gears again....this is how we find out what works best for each combo. If I were able to find 3.31s they'd be in there next. The outcome from just one day of 4 passes shows you how good this trans and Circle D converters are.So, possibly a slight gain with 3.15s, but you also gained significant fuel economy. I think it was a good swap.
You are spot on with this assement. With a converter, these autos seem to do great with 3.15 or 3.31. The trans is geared so low, that there's really nothing to choose between 3.15s and 3.73s in the 1/4 mile, as you have discovered. With 3.15s, you get the added economy too, so it only makes sense. Some of the 11-14 Coyote auto guys have tried testing as close to back to back as possible with different gears, and found that they didn't really lose or gain anything. Six-speed auto for the W!

Yes, I have Circle Ds 5C, a 4K+ stall. I'm flashing it to about t 4,300.Very promising for me to see here, so stock 3.15 you went faster, you have a stall on it yet?
That 11.4x is promising at 119mph,
I remember when I had my 03 cobra a million years ago. Back in 03, with 440rwhp it ran all day 11.40's at 119-120mph with a 1.65 60 foot.

Love the data! Thank you!So here's some data on CAI during a 1/4 mile pass. The 1st log was my cardboard template, went from 113° to 93° so there was some improvement over nothing at all. The 2nd log is my home made ABS heat shield, it went from 115° to 84°, it went lower and in a shorter time period. Good data backing up imagination and don't forget the 119.65 mph.
No doubt. I didn't realize how tight it was against the firewall. Thanks for posting the pics!

Well it was designed for the 2011-14 cars. Can't blame Ford or frpp for the intake not fitting the 2015+ the same way.Boy ford sure made it a huge pain in the ass to use different manifolds.
I had to remove the CJ intake when dropping the trans on the 2011-14 cars. Otherwise it would hit the firewall/cowl area. So not surprised if the 2015+ was the same as it looks tighter. Luckily the intake is easy to take on and off.So I guess Intake must come off for tranny work?
