I am very curious to get my GT350 onto the track. Having driven E36 M3s and E46 M3s at track events, I always had to hustle them through the corners at speeds that pressed up against my talent level in order to get competitive lap times with others. I get the feeling from off-ramps and the limited driving I've done with the GT350 that it will be a much more relaxed way to get competitive lap times. Now, don't get me wrong, once the skill level of the weak link, me, even begins to approach the ability of the car, I have a feeling it will just run away and hide from most.

This guy ? He mentions 1:16.39. I think my best is 1:16.5? But I am pretty ham fisted but I have a lot more days on this track (though not much time over all). That being said id expect the GT350 be faster then a M2 on this course.

Haha, yes, you can see my car pitted in front of his through the windshield when he's getting ready.

I had a good look at an M2 at the track the other day. Really nice car and I'd love to drive it, but when I poked my head inside I was surprised to see the lack of BMW quality in the cabin. It looked very 350ish to me.

But the BMW crowd say the Mustang's interior materials are sooooooo ghastly and rental-car quality

But seriously, the interior materials of a regular 230i or 328i are not really any better than those in a Mustang....

Personally I think their garbage for what they bill that car to be. If it were a performance bargain that would be different. But they're not.

Their "M" cars have pretty nice (optional) "Nappa" Leather that is quite soft. They don't have hard plastic doors, but neither does the 2017 GT350. Overall their interior design is a little more complex and 'nicer' but not much and far from the difference that BMW snobs like to make it out to be.

Call me crazy but it sounded like the GT350 driver on the strip didn't use launch control once. Not sure how much a difference that would make tho.

Nappa isn't available on the M2. It just gets the standard Dakota leather, which isn't that nice.

The M3/4 and up have the option for full leather interiors, which are very nice. You can also go through BMWs individual program and make some really nice interiors. Of course it costs a ton of money to do that.

If I'm not mistaken, for '17 one needs to order one of the "elec." option packages to get the "soft doors". The base '17 GT350 is identical to a '15/'16 Track Pack, with the hard plastic doors, which don't bother me.

That Jalopnik article...S85. How can something so wonderful that produced such an incredible noise and power band be such a HORRIBLE worthless pile of smashed assholes? I just don't get it. Oh that's right...VANOS. And bearings.
You mean those ?

I would pick a c63S over any new M car right now and have.... an edition1 in my garage right now. More exciting than any modern M car.. and I used to love BMW over Mercedes.

Looks like they couldnt get their hands on the R which would have beaten the .4 seconds. Gotta find a way to make it more even i guess. Was kinda boring review but i also gave up on it. Maybe it came around... nah..

Now that's an unfair comparison that wouldn't make sense.
R comp tires vs street tire.
Price tag is much more as well.
