You forget 2 things. GM is an engineering company. Ford is too cheap to pay Multimatic for winning results.
So, the Ford GT doesn’t count? That’s a FP/Multimatic car and if I recall correctly it had two cars podium (1st and 3rd) in 2016 at LeMans. The Mustang GT3 also had a podium finish (3rd) at LeMans in its debut this past June (also had a car finish 4th, not bad for Year 1 of the GT3). Seems to me they know what they’re doing. Whether we like it or not, Ford doesn’t seem to skimp when it comes to the halo cars…

Found it faster than I thought. Thanks to iPhone text search on images. I actually said too high of a number for the GTD

Le mans is about luck. And fortuitous durability. The gtd is a street car. It's mettle will never be tested.

It's not near embarrassing to get waxed by a Corvette than it is to look like dilletants on world tv racing.

We shall see.

Ahh yeah, I trust him lol

It's the video creator I'm iffy about
I can't vouch for that curb weight. It's the only reference I could find.

For 99% of the future buyers, yeah you’re right. There’s a few folks here that have applied for one and are on record stating it will be tracked as designed. Hopefully they get one and post up some videos on track.

You can also say the same thing about the ZR1. Most of them won’t be tested the way they were designed to be driven either. They will become garage queens just like the GTD unfortunately…

If it's a 10 second difference, definitely no argument
I would definitely argue with that. :like:

I'm really interested to see what happens. Typically Ford doesn't publish NĂĽrburgring times, but GM does. So I don't think we will get an "official" GTD 'ring time. I can't really imagine the GTD being quicker. I think front engine/transaxle is a terrific formula for a fun car, but it's not the ideal lap time setup.

I didn't realize Ford said that. And they are lapping the street version, not the race version? Not sure why they would even do that, to be honest - or why they would care how fast it is.

Edit: I guess maybe they will continue selling some GTDs like they did with the Ford GT to try to market their products?
