I know it's a Dodge, but why doesn't anyone mention the fastest 0-60 production car (2.3 sec), fastest 1/4 mile production car (9.65 sec), and the only production car that will actually pull the front wheels off the ground?
You need to go look at the video , secrets to the dodge demons record setting 9.6,1/4 miles. So that track was preped with glue.no one is gonna see that time. It's true times is in the 10s.

Not really. The ZR1 wasn't/isn't/can't be raced at LeMans. If a car is to compete with the GT - it must compete at LeMans. Winning LeMans was the #1 express purpose of the Ford GT and it was stated over and over by the top people at Ford that the GT was intended to win there. What racing series is the ZR1 in?
C7 R competes in the lemans series if i remember right not the ZR1 version! Now are we actually comparing cars where they will be driven 99.99% of the time or based out of one single event?

The main argument is even though the GT500 comes with more torque and power than a corvette zr1, I wouldn’t expect a miracle out it. It will still weight too much and will be slow of the line compared to a zr1. Demon for example is already suffering in real life comparisons with its mighty 800+ horsepower and to me it is certainly not a 9 second car. It lacks consistency.

I would be greatful atleast if the GT500 leaves a 10 speed ZL1 in the dust and a ZL1 1LE in a road coarse! An overall performance beasty GT500. That’s what most people would like to see. Just drag racing, better of with a cobra jet or copo camaro.

The video I talked about shows the demon is not a 9 second car. The new GT500 I expect to kill the zl1 and be closer to the zr1:ford:

I know right! It is funny that the manufacturer tries 100 times on a prep surface with variable tire pressures, environmental conditions, lay down maybe a couple of upper 9 seconds and call the car a 9 second car! To me thats just false advertising and deceiving people!

Well they got that deceptive practice from Garbage Motors. They have been doing that for years. To put that much glue down on the track is crazy when you know all local tracks don't do that. The demon is a 10 second car

Goes without saying that the production street version isn't the same. The street version makes a lot more power than the track one, for instance. However, that misses my original point.
What was your point, that a ZR1 and the C7R aren't the same car? That the gap between the two is further than the cap between the Ford GT and the race spec GT? You don't know, no one but the higher up knows. There's more than just calibration differences there. This whole argument is pointless, you can't get a C7R and you can't get one of the race spec GTs, the GT beat the C7R so it's superior, but the ZR1 has outlapped the Ford GT and Ford is too timid to actually grow some balls and put the GT out there in comparison tests. Instead they're cutting all their cars and shoving electric vehicles in everyone's faces.

Is the GT500 actually gonna get an auto trans tho? That will make all the difference in straight line performance if you ask me. Well that and tires. If they stick it with a manual trans (pun intended) then the A10 ZL1 will probably give it a run.

The Ford GT street and race cars actually use the same carbon fiber tub. The C7.R only has a passing resemblence to a Corvette. They aren't the same at all.

Ford's not timid. They actually said they built the car to win LeMans, and they did it. The GT has achieved its goals - it has nothing to prove.

The C7-R and C7 Z06 / ZR-1, share the same chassis off the same assembly line in Bowling Green.

Who gives a shit? The ZR1 is awesome. The GT is awesome. Hopefully the GT500 will be awesome. The ZL1 1LE is awesome.

We just all need to rejoice that we aren't stuck driving Chrysler products.
So very true! :headbang:

I wonder how many passes it took in those conditions to run that ET.
