Anyone with a Roush blower running Boostane? Roush's page says it doesn't recommend "Additives".
I keep a can in my trunk. After a fill up of 93. If I see KnockR pulling timing I'll put about 4oz in my tank.

If I'm understanding this right, you shouldn't add this to your tank with just having a 93 tune with FI? You need a different tune for it? And you guys with FI are using Boostane Professional?

I did a good bit of testing of the stuff and have a whole thread on it with test data. On my car, I don’t see max timing using 93 and the whipple 91 tune. With the knock strategy the coyote has, most people won’t get to max timing on 93 alone. When I added boostane, I was able to get to max timing.

93oct and half can of Boostane every tank. In the heat of summer, it's the only way my car sees full timing on my 93oct tune.

It's perfectly fine to add with a 93 tune. It will just give you extra protection against detonation.

Incorrect.

Lund remote dyno tuned my car on a 120* heat index day for 93octane. We weren't seeing full timing on various brands of 93. Just to check to see if everything was working correctly, we dumped in a can of VP Octanium and immediately saw full timing along with 40+hp at the tires. Since Boostane Professional is easier on plugs and oxygen sensors, I've been running it ever since just to be safe and make sure I'm getting full timing regardless of ambient temperature and brand of 93 octane pump gas.

Thanks for the info @PTM5.0, and thanks @Bluelightning as well. I think I'm gonna give this stuff a try.

I reached out to Ian at Boostane, when asked about MMT and LSPI here is his response:

I am familiar with this phenomena in regards to various octane enhancing components. And while MMT is apart of our formula, it is not the only aspect to our technology. This glowing points or hot spots that seem to cause the LSPI, in our experience comes from high concentrations and coagulation of higher density chemicals. This is a problem with many additives that have not addressed this issue.

Understanding these shortcomings, we developed our proprietary chelated carrier to help modulate the delivery process and prevent settling out, coagulation, and high concentrations being pulled through the combustion process.

That being said, there are always tradeoffs with demanding more from OEM parts, whether from higher boost, compression, or fuel. These require you to be aware and address accordingly, which you are an half the battle

see the below video for a little visual to what I am saying.

When I asked if Boostane took any precautions to prevent LSPI from residual material left behind I got this:

We have worked hard to eliminate these factors, but as you can understand there are many different vehicle setups and dynamics, so there is always possibility. However we run BOOSTane in many of our turbo applications. Supercharged Charger, TT Porsche, and Procharged Powerboat without issue.

Just put new plugs in my car and the ones they pulled out had a slight yellow-orangish build up on them after 2k miles. It wiped off easily but gonna do new plugs yearly now. I've been running half a can of Boostane Professional with every tank of 93octane premium from BP/Mobil/Shell.

I use 1/3 a can about 10 oz every tank. Unless I’m going to track full can or get knock from crap tank of 93. 10k miles boosted miles not one issue with Boostane. If anything it don’t the same with out it lol. Worth every penny
