Boostane Users w/ Whipple

Heyo,

Another dumb question here but just want to be 100% sure so I'm not wasting ounces.

For the professional boostane (32 oz), I just need ~2 oz for the entire tank (16 gals) if I want to bring it from 91 to 93 based on their chart?

I wouldn't count on it mixing perfectly through out the whole tank but I've spoke to their engineers and they seem very confident in their product. I uses to run 6-8oz to protect against bad 91. Figured better safe than sorry. My car lives on that shit now. I buy it by the 5 gallon jug lol.

Correct on the calculation. I bring it to the gas station with me and put it in before filling the tank. This way it at least mixes some while you're filling. Then drive a few miles and let it rip.

We have good 93 around here, so I only used boostane when drag racing. I usually run ~4oz to a tank. I have a stage 2 Gen5 whipple running the standard 3.875 pulley. I've been debating to step down to the 3.75 pulley when racing and running boostane, but have not done that yet.

When I was on whipple tune, I'd just add 1 bottle of boostane shot to 93 to make 96 at every fill up. The shots were convenient as you can keep a couple in glove box. I always filled up before 1/4 tank empty to ensure I was getting enough booster.

Whipple tune with 3.625 pulley and guardian features turned off made 786 whp on dynapacks and would trap in the mid 130s at 4100ish lbs. Even did 138 at Island in crazy low DA.

Car ran great on whipple tune all the way up to 12k miles when I snapped crankshaft.

Replaced with an aluminator, MFP crank support, and went custom PBD tune using the same fuel combo I had on the previous whipple tune set up ( 93 and boostane to make 96).

Within 7k miles of aluminator I had to rebuild due to various levels of head gasket lift and raised ringlands from undetected knock....thats a entirely different story.

Long story short, stay on whipple tune if using boostane to supplement pump gas. If you go custom tune and want to make big power without e85, run a dedicated race gas like MS109 or Sunoco GT 260 plus that has a similar stoich as pump gas without the need of a return style system like when running e85.

I had my stock cats and kooks regular high flow cats (not the GESI "green") fail rather quickly running whipple tune.

If running a boosted setup, GESI are the only ones I've found to be durable enough to withstand boost/high EGTs.

Kooks has their branded "green cats" which are GESI. GESI came out with a new line of ultra high performance cats that can withstand up to 1200 hp PER CYLINDER BANK.

Pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

Sorry can't help you with that but I know my O2s haven't had any issues. 85k with the stock ones still so I would assume the cats would be ok too. Only thing I have to clean or change regularly (every 10k) is my spark plugs. Oh and exhaust tips. They get orange AF!

MMT will turn everything orange. Plugs will live for a while until they get caked up.

These were mine after 6kish miles of running 1 bottle of boostane shot every fill up. Stock Ford Performance Motorcraft 1 range colder plugs that came with aluminator gapped to .028 by shop who did install. Motor had some headgasket lift and several raised ringlands. Was still making over 730whp in hurt condition. 819 whp on 3.5 pulley when first broken in/dynoed.

Mine after about 11k miles of running 8oz boostane professional per tank.

And after cleaning them so I can get another 8-10k out of them.

Bet someone could 3d print an an adaptor that would go onto a standard pump nozzle, other end in the tank, and then have a spot to either siphon or gravity feed a bottle of boostane in the right measurement. That would be cool lol.

The 5 gallon container is great for that. I measure out exactly 16oz and put it into my old boostane bottles and pre fill enough for a few weeks. Takes the guess work out of wondering if you poured the right amount from the bottle. I always wished they would add a little visible strip down the side of the bottles so you know exactly how much you used.

I bought this 8oz measuring pitcher off Amazon. Works easy enough to measure out the boostane, then pour it into that fuel funnel that comes with the car.
