  1. 2020 boosted gt catted headers O2 sensor issue

I had Kooks high flow "non green" cats fail on me running the stock whipple tune calibration. Which brand cats do you have? Kooks and and I believe Stainless offer GESI catted options which are the ones you would need to run with boost (in addition to cat protection turned on within tune). OEM...
  2. True Flex Fuel Tune

I've run whipple tune, PBD Shoemaker tune, and Lund based tune. Lund tune by far has the best partial throttle, idle, and start up. Lund also options a PCMTEC $450 add on option in which they can get you tru canbus flex fuel. If you look back a few posts you will see the hardware required to...
  3. 93 Octane Tune on Boosted Motor

I'm about $700 into hardware to run the canbus function of PCMTEC. 64 bit flash device, flex fuel mount and fuel fittings, Zeitronix canbus box, flex fuel sensor, ethanol guage , harnesses, and OBD2 passthrough so I can keep my nguage plugged in and logging.
  4. 93 Octane Tune on Boosted Motor

My bad, I just took for granted you had a s550 since it's a 6g forum. I don't have personal experience with the proflex kit. Basically it uses an in line ethanol sensor to monitor ethanol content and then adjust the pulse of fuel injectors to deliver the optimum fuel for ethanol % stoich...
  5. 93 Octane Tune on Boosted Motor

You can manually lock in the ethanol content and not rely on the canbus flex automated feature. For example if you had an ethanol flex fuel sensor sending info to an innovate ethanol guage, you can just look at guage % then enter the multi tune via cruise control and manually set your ethanol...
  6. 93 Octane Tune on Boosted Motor

I was one of the ones who had a crankshaft failure. Dealer did whipple install, ATI balancer, and OPG/CS. Failure happened at 12,800 miles cruising under 70 mph. I added a MFP crank support on the aluminator I replaced stock motor with. I believe many of the failures with ATI are due to...
  7. 93 Octane Tune on Boosted Motor

Do yourself a favor and get with a tuner that can utilize PCMTEC to build you a custom multi tune. We finished setting up my buddie's car for canbus flex and am about to set mine up the same way. You can have tune limit airload based on ethanol percentage so that you maybe get a cap of say...
  8. Headers hitting AC

I'd check the engine tune to make use knock sensors are turned on. I imagine the previous owner may have been getting a ton of "false knock" and may have had tune adjusted accordingly.
  9. Quietest 3in exhaust

AWE Touring paired with GESI Gen 2 UHP catalytic converters will give you the exhaust flow to support upwards of 1,000 hp while still remaining relatively tame when you have your foot out of it. It will still be loud at WOT, but will sound clean and deep with minimal raspiness.
  10. BAP on a 700whp on 93 Any Issues?

1st engine was a crankshaft failure. It did have an ATI balancer and OPG/CS installed several thousand miles prior. Perhaps the balancer wasn't put on/honed correctly? Really don't know for sure as there has been several whipple, procharger, and ESS cars that were otherwise stock have crankshaft...
  11. BAP on a 700whp on 93 Any Issues?

Stock gen 2 stage 2 whipple tune made 786 whp at 7600 rpm with 93+octane booster with stock fuel pump, no BAP, and 3.625 pulley. DW 72 lb injectors were at 87% duty cycle at 7600 rpm. I lost that motor from a snapped crankshaft, but otherwise motor/tune ran fine other than destroying stock and...
  12. True Flex Fuel Tune

Well my buddy let me know canbus is now available for the workshop accounts. He just recently set his up and is quite pleased with it. 2017 (digital dash swap) with gen 2 2.9 whipple , using Zeitronix and custom plug for Nguage.
  13. Phenolic thermal spacer for PD

Upgrading to a 170 Reische T-stat, adding MFP phenolic spacers, and making a custom supercharger blanket from spare work material netted a nearly 30 degree drop for my gen 2 stage 2 whipple with standard heat exchanger and stock fans. I believe Paramount Speed or Juggernaut Performance may be...
  14. Best real world street shock and spring setups?

I've been through a few set ups from stock PP suspension, vogtland 1 inch drop springs (rode very nice), Vikings crusaders ( not practical or intended for daily use), and current Steeda proactive "comfort" suspension paired with their progressive springs, sway bars, and stop the hop kit. Steeda...
  15. Question: Is it nessasary to upgrade head bolts at 800whp?

I run a Lund based tune now that makes 630-660whp depending on pulley with a soft 7,500 rpm limiter and max 18 timing. I think that is the sweet and dependable spot for 93 octane. Sure is plenty of enough for non drag radials tires. On e85 (well anything e70 or higher) we run 21.5-22 timing...
  16. Question: Is it nessasary to upgrade head bolts at 800whp?

I had Holbrook Racing Engines rebuild my aluminator after raising a few ringlands from undetected detonation. (Tuner had desensitized the knock sensors to the point where they couldn't save motor.) Was making 819 whp on 96 octane 3.5 pulley and 22 timing, trapping 138 mph 1700 DA 4120 lbs race...
  17. Anyone Have Stock DS Half Shafts OPG fail with FI?

The most common failure I have seen on boosted setups are snapped crankshaft snouts, myself included. MFP makes a support which I can highly recommend. Another company also offers a kinetic crank saver bolt. OPG/CS are nice to upgrade as when boosted it is fairly easily to break traction and...
  18. PBD

Yep...that happened to me! I have since switched over to a Lund based tune and am in the process of working on beta canbus flex fuel tuning via PCMTec.
  19. Is Boostane really that bad for our cars?

For what it's worth, the 96 octane combo of pump 93 and boostane ended up in failure. At almost 2 years of running that combo, car dropped about 60 rwhp on same dyno, tune, and pulley combo. Ended up having ringland failure on multiple pistons from undetected detonation ( tuner had knock sensors...
  20. True Flex Fuel Tune

The new GESI 1200 hp per cylinder bank ones supposedly hold up well as long you don't use 2 step. I'm not sure who manufacturers the OEM hellcat ones, but my buddy makes 1070 whp and have been surviving for 3 race seasons.
