Wonder if it knows it's about to be abused on a track lol
Haha. We had a few conversations.

Day 2 went well.
Took old block and trans out yesterday. Put new engine in today. Installed manifold and new radiator. Tomorrow is oil cooler and last button ups.

Dang man, you did the engine from above?! That's a bold strategy! How was it?
wasn’t too bad removing the block and trans with two people. Getting the new one in with headers and oil adapter was a challenge. Needed to remove driver side header to drop in

Catching up on your thread, this is amazing.

Still original trans?

Is that an OEM Gen 3 block or other changes?

I really want to put the GT500 oil pan and pump on mine, but re-timing is intimidating and it's been running well. Currently working on adding an oil cooler.

yup original trans although it may need a rebuild soon. but its still good
yup OEM gen 3

That's understandable about the timing. I will say the size difference between the gen 2 pan and the gt500 is very noticeable as well as the wallet when you have to buy extra quarts of oil lol

I am working on mounting the oil cooler this weekend hopefully and will have IR make the lines. I dont trust myself and i will be pissed if i have the lines blow lol

BTW this is the complete list of all the parts collected over the past 2 years for this new iteration of the car. Some pictures to follow

Making the hoses DIY is no big deal. Get this and you will succeed easily.
I like to terminate one end, screw it into place, then feed the hose to the other location. That way I can truly measure the perfect length.

I will say that IR fittings and hose are very high quality and leak-proof.

for oil cooling, I went with the DH(R) set up. GT500, FP350 all use the similar style oil filter adapter. Ford Racing also sells the kit with the oil cooler included.

I bought the fittings from Capldi which they make for the racing programs. Allows to run 2 lines straight to the cooler instead of 4 with a remote filter adapter.

I lowered the engine using Watson CJ motor mounts so its a tight fit between the adapter fittings and the subframe.

Plan to sort out oil cooler mounting this weekend.

tapped two holes in the GT500 oil pan to run a temp sensor for analog gauge and the other for datalogger.

Hell yeah, awesome. Your trans holding up gives me faith lol.

Yep... also way nicer having an aluminum pan. The GT500 valve covers were easy and look great.

My run for the oil cooler will be short since I'm using a triple pass with both connectors on one side.

Are you adapting the Dark Horse R cooler to your car then, based on that part list? That's def a longer run. I couldn't find verification that the PR3Z-6881-C would fit older blocks.

Didnt have it in PL but I also upgraded to the Fluidyne triple pass radiator and put holes in the fan shroud similar to the TSB for the DHR cars
DIdnt take a picture compared to the OEM PP radiator but the fluidyne is masssive.

You will need an adapter for oil sensor port because it is a M12 x 1.5 thread. I bought the adapter on McMaster. Pricey but it was the only one I could find.
