Nice!
Damn, kinda liking the idea of paint-matched louvers now 🤔
lol ya know...i wasnt going to do the lower louvers just yet, but after seeing how these came out, this is the current state of the car 😅:

If you do decide to go that route, after a quick search I found a post that shows the closest color match. Fortunately, Prismatic had the exact color code match for magnetic. Or you could always go the OEM paint route via a body shop.

On one hand, I like the black contrast of the hood louvers on my car but something about color-matched makes it look more OEM.

I have black louvers on my hood, might paint match Deep Impact Blue for the fender louvers when I get them, but Idk if it would turn out as good

I was considering repainting the hood vents but to your point, I really like the contrast of the black vents currently. I will like it more once the car is cleaned and outside lol.

The contrasting hood and matched fender vents gives me AMG GT Black Series vibes just without the $300K+ price tag and a roof over my head

Also since im here...

I did a trace for the splitter. After getting a quote from 9LR and Racebred (both $600 + shipping), I decided to go the DIY route. I wanted to have a digital copy of the splitter for repeatability and avoid the need to save a physical template.
Doing some Googles, I found a local nonprofit "tinker company" that offers equipment for people to use after they take a safety and operation class. One of the things they have is a CNC router for woodworking with a 55"x98" bed so that's perfect for the size of the splitter. Less than $100 for the wood and then free use of equipment....cant beat that. I wish I could print the splitter out on paper before the CNC effort but I don't think anybody has a printer like that and I'm not paying Staples to print my splitter mock up on a banner/sign.
I plan to take the CNC class next week and hopefully have a produced splitter by mid May.

I have 2 versions: one is rounded leading edge only and the other is more of an airplane airfoil shape where the leading and trailed edges are filleted (shoutout to AJ's splitter video)

Need to fill the hole I made. Lets see how this turns out since I don't have the know-how on making waterfall style (I think thats what they're called) fenders.

The CAD model is what you're making?? If it turns out well, I'd buy some in a heart beat.

I would also buy a pair if they turn out tasty.

And please do share your 5” splitter CAD and bumpstoo CAD when you get a chance 🫶

My initial plan was for it to be made out of aluminum like most vents but I am having a hard time finding a company that can get the curve done the way I have it. The one place that can is charging stupid money. The best way forward seems to be 3D print in ASA-CF. I'm sure I can send it to another company to have it molded and done in CF but that will drive the cost up. One benefit of having it printed is that if someone didn't want the mounting holes, they could use double sided adhesive. Now the thing is finding a printer with a large enough bed that will allow me 18h print time per vent. Hoping to have a printer secured by the end of the week to start the first print. I have a bambu A1 mini so I'm limited to bed size. I did print a portion of the vent to make sure the depth of the curve is how I want it: closest to the frame as possible to decrease the amount of air escaping underneath. There is about 2-3mm gap between the frame and the duct so it should get out a lot of air from the tire. It came out perfect. All measurements are solid. Cant wait to see how it turns out.

Yes sir! I cant imagine making a car part that people would spend their hard earned money on lol but if all turns out well, I will be happy to send you a set and you can decide what to do with them.

I have not forgotten. I have to take the CNC Safety Class before I can use the company's machine. I am hoping to have it done by mid May. If you want, I made two tracing tools. The small one is to use against the bumper lip and the taller one is to use against the bumper fascia due to orgs use different measurement references.
