I really love the Mach 1 HP wheels. Yes, there are lighter options, etc. I'm not racing for money and I like the appearance of these more than any other wheel I've seen on a Mustang. My opinion is you can't go wrong with them, especially on a Mach 1.

I couldn’t agree more. I really like the look of these stock wheels and if they were available I’d gladly pay a custom wheel price for the exact same wheel, only substantially lighter.

I had the same thought. Lighter maybe wider

You definitely need more camber there friend.
They are at -2. It's what Ford recommends for some sporty applications. I realize for heavier track use you can get more out of a more aggressive camber. If I get to the track twice a year I'm doing well. What would you recommend?

Factory wheels are not bad for a stock wheel compared to some manufacturers (CFTP are bad ass) but they are a dime a dozen and kinda boring, imho.

I already had these wheels and I use them on the track. They are the Project 6GR’s, 11/11 1/2 and are 9 lbs lighter. They do stick out a bit up front but the fender molding helps.

Have more pics of the car? 😍
I’d like to get an idea how much more they stick out.

I have to say, I know I started this thread about best Mach 1 wheels, and I’m still planning to replace them primarily because aftermarket are lighter.
But these OE wheels get a bad rap, they don’t look too too bad, I will miss the classic look

I have these as a winter setup. They are much heavier than the appearance package wheels. The HP wheels (bird's nest) are wider but the same weight as the appearance package. I like all the three options, but I don't think the HP are a wow-factor wheel, neither are as good as some aftermarket performance wheels like e.g. APEX.
If you go for the looks - take the ones which grab you most. If it is performance in mind - forget the looks, think purpose. If you're aiming for going from non-hp to HP atick with the HP wheels as they are true to the original look

Hey Ryan well said! Agree with you.
I (my wife) decided to stick with the OEM+ look, I’m going with the birds nest option even though many don’t seem to like it.
probably going for these in the link since they’re about 10 lbs lighter per wheel. And I think it accomplishes performance (more rubber on the ground than mine) as well as looking OEM

SVE PP2 wheels are over played, think out side the box.

I miss the original Torq Thrust wheels of the late 60's (my teen era). The spokes were recessed, the outer rim was machined. Unfortunately you cannot fit those old wheels on the later generation Mustangs.

I'm pretty sure on American Racing's website, you can get these in 18 or 20 with almost any bolt pattern and backspace. I have a set in 17" on my Factory 5. Love these wheels for the old skool look.

I cannot decide what tire size to go with on the rear. Car is stock ride height and will stay that way for the foreseeable future. Had these left over Velgen VF9's from my last car and think they look great on the new one. Currently have a 305/30 on the rear. The last car was lowered and that size was perfect.
Should i go 305/35 or 315/35? I'm thinking 305/35 should fill in the gap pretty well. If anyone running a 305/35 20 on a non-lowered car send me a pic.

305/30 is 27.2" tall
305/35 is 28.4"
315/35 is 28.7"

Thanks

I am running 295/35/20 at the moment and I am going to replace them with 315/35/20, as I think 305/30/20 with make the gap bigger on a unlowered car
