351C….the 2v or HO? I still had the 2v on mine when I sold it. Miss that car but it made lots of (unhappy) noise and zero power at high rpm (probably 4500) before the slush box decided to shift.
2V. Eventually had the motor rebuilt and replaced the heads with a set off a dirt track car, big lift Crane cam, Edelbrock intake, Holley 650 double pumper, all exiting through some Hooker Super Competition headers. Transmission was rebuilt with a stage 2 shift kit and running a 3,000rpm stall converter. Sounded good and was a lot of fun, but made nowhere near the power of my current car. Technology...

They were much maligned and certainly the Ghia with the Landau roof deserves all the scorn it can get, but in the right trim, the '74-78 Mustangs could be decent both in looks and performance (at least relative to other options available at that time).

Sweet. Nice upgrades to the 72. Seems like things aren’t so different now….I also have a manual black/black gen2 with a G5S2 Whipple, only it’s not premium, no headers, etc.

This, in my opinion:

Anybody agree?

I like the ‘70 but the outer headlights delete didn’t do it for me.
Not only are the '69 headlights/front face better, but the '69 tail lights are better than the '70 as well.

I think the '67 Shelbys are just slightly better looking, but I love the '69 Boss 429 as well.

From a Camaro guy, the best looking and only Mustang I'd want is an S550 GT350.

My all-time favorite is the '69 fastback design.

The S550 is a close second for me, with the GT350 being the best of the lot.

Those are fine but nothing can top the purposeful, aggressive lines of this '77 Ghia. It just screams "Back off, I'm a badass!"

This was my first car when I turned 16. Mine had hubcaps not rims and was silver, but everything else including the half rag top was on it. Being a kid I was just happy to have my own vehicle. It had lots of problems. For example, it didn't like to start when the engine was hot, never figured that one out. It overheated when you sat in traffic too long. This was a problem in rush hour or drive thru. The gas tank was laughably small, I think it was 11 gallons, so it used about a 1/4 tank of gas ever trip. I think it was part Harley because it marked it spot where every you parked it. On a positive note, it needed so many repairs that I learned a lot about cars fixing it ever weekend with my Dad. Ah, good memories but not good times.

i agree; this was the first car/Mustang i had, given to me by my father. i was clueless, and within a few weeks, totaled the car (hit a dog in the rain, flipped upside down and ended up in the back seat). my dad immediately downgraded me to a power blue Pinto for the next 3 years.
