That is a cool story. The very first Mustang ever sold, over 54 years ago, is still owned by the original owner. That's a WOW! in my book.

I don't think her's was the first one made (i.e., S/N 1), it was the first one actually sold to a customer. Pretty sure the first one made was white.
Correct, the Wimbledon White convertible in the Henry Ford is serial # 00001. The first Mustang built, from sometime in March 1964. The blue convertible in this story was the first one sold to a customer, two days before the “official” on-sale date of April 17th, 1964. That car’s owner lives a few minutes away from where I work, funny enough, and I have seen that blue ‘64-1/2 on the road a couple times. It’s stunning in person.
