My current Mustang is an A10, but the previous one was a 6MT.
I do kinda miss the 6MT at times.
My previous gt was auto and I don't miss it at all. It's so much fun driving a manual. But I'll give it to the auto boys, definitely faster at take off. I'm not trying to race though, just trying to look pretty behind the wheel. :inlove:

I voted for Auto as the last 3 Mustangs were are stick
My last Manual was a 2013 Shelby GT500 and while that pedal required a little more effort, it was not bad.
But I just wanted something different.
Three years ago, I had a torn left bicep ligament and it's true, the bicep rolls up and hurts like hell. The Surgery was ever better.
My truck, the Shelby, and the bikes, all being manual, it made driving quite the experience. Bikes were out for sure.
Left arm was not usable for a good 2-3 months, so trying to steer, shift, etc, all with the right arm only was fun.
If I had the Auto's back then, i would have been fine.

yeah that would do it for me.....I'm getting up there in age and luckily no health issues. That's one thing that crossed my mind when ordering the MT. I'm rolling the dice that nothing gives out to make driving a stick impossible! If I have to cross that bridge in the future, I'm sure my wife will let me know! :cwl:

My bicep tear was kind of my fault. Always been a Gym Guy and don't think twice about lifting something heavy.
That day, it finally got me. Like a heavy deadlift.
Sounded like a Guitar string.

men of yesteryear handled the task and lived to tell the tale. So is modern man just weak then? Cars of yore were vastly harder physically to drive and no safety measures to speak of.
Then it became more about driving strategy and less about driving mechanics. Cars got faster and more powerful. In the late 80's/early 90's when Formula 1 started changing the rules to make it more about a drivers ability to drive and less about the mechanics we saw active suspension from Lotus, semi-automatic transmissions and traction control from Ferrari.

Sure, a spitfire pilot knows how to hand fly a plane and real-time adjust prop and mixture... but he can't compete anymore with a pilot in a F22 leveraging all the tech. Nor could the F22 be flown if a pilot needed to worry about the mechanical aspects of how the plane is operating.

Yup, modern jets are built to be dynamically unstable in flight. The computer has to constantly trim the flight surfaces to keep it airborne. As a result, the aircraft can be more maneuverable at speed than it could be with a more traditional design. If the computer was removed, it would actually be unable to fly under human control alone.
So we need some rocket propelled EMP's is what I'm hearing.

Don't want to derail this thread, but yes, modern tech is amazing.
My dream car was always a 1970 Chevelle LS7 454 and today, a v6 or Eco boost Mustang would probably kill it in the 1/4 mile.

But that Chevelle would look and sound amazing while also likely doing better burnouts.

or not. But the Chevelle wouldn't be able to take a curve (or stop) and that's vastly more important than a contrived straight-line acceleration metric. With some exception cars have lousy acceleration.

what was your previous auto though? what year car I mean. does make a significant difference, the current A10s vs something from a fox, SN, etc. I never drove an auto S197, only drove an 07 gt500, but im sure the autos were nothing like the current autos. that being said, if i didnt have a manual in my 95, i would have gotten a manual instead of an auto in the '19

i blew out my acl and mcl in martial arts a loooong time ago. self inflicted! didn't stop when i felt the first pop...just told myself don't be a wussy and get up.....shortly thereafter I realized it was a big mistake. Right leg was in a brace for a while and i was not able to drive...not even an auto trans would have helped :cwl:

id take the chevelle any day. even if an ecoboost would be faster or carve corners better, you cant deny the cool/fun factor.
