You both lose this argument because nobody has any clue about the reliability of the new transmission. A one day review by a magazine certainly isnt going to find every little problem.
Check back next year when there is actual data to argue about.

As far as numbers won't an auto always put out lower numbers then a manual? Of course you can tune the auto but it will still not match up to a tuned manual... Considering no driver error

You'd have to be a race car driver to beat the new automatic with a manual shift.

Yeah, definitely auto -- putting aside the fact that I don't know how to drive a manual, the idea of parallel parking on inclines with a manual seems... uncomfortable to me. And I have to do that every day.

I'm assuming everyone here appreciates the Mustang or else you wouldn't have one or be here. I have a dilemma and need some input. I want to buy the 2015 Mustang GT, but I'm stuck between manual or auto.

Auto
-I have a 60 mile commute in traffic pretty much everyday.
-It's been about 5 years since I've driven a manual.

Manual
-It's a lot more fun.
-I think a muscle car generally should be a manual.
-Performance Pack isn't available on Autos.

What do you guys think?
I ordered an Auto , they do come with Performance Package.

Only Ecoboosts can get PP with autos. For GT's, you can only get the PP and auto if you're ordering a Limited Edition or you're in Europe.

Best reason to get the auto IMO is for remote start. Total wimp in the cold, and I hate waiting for my car to warm up. That said, is that enough reason for me to get an automatic Mustang? No, it's not.

It may not show up in 1/4 miles times, but a manual "feels" A LOT faster than a automatic. The automatic smooth outs, but ultimately deadens, the performance feel.

I also had this dilemma. I have never owned a manual and for some reason I relate them to white cheap commercial vehicles with steel wheels. Ha! Having said that, I'm always shifting my own gears via manu-matics, so there's something in me that likes manual shifting. I guess my fear is getting stuck in traffic, geting tired of it in a couple of years, having to shift first gear on a hill or having to brake suddenly. I know with practice one will master this concerns. There has also been signs. I have seen a lot of girls lately driving manuals (mostly mini coopers btw) and I kind of felt emasculated, ha! Take it easy girls. Where I come from, women are allergic to manuals and it's considered a men's transmission.
From my perspective, a Mustang V8 has to be manual and that's where I am leaning towards to.
