Whats up guys, so i know plenty of people have had the "bbq" "typewriter" tick with their cars. I have seen quite a few people having their engines replaced, as well as a national back order on the shortblock. I have a 2019, thinking that i would have missed having this issue. Well, my car has the tick, it comes and goes and is there on cold starts or at full operating temps. Called my dealer to explain everything, setup an appointment only to have the service department call me minutes later explaining how they spoke with Ford and that it is completely normal. Told me that you can walk the lot and start any of their 18+s and they will all do it. Calmly tried explaining the number of people having scoring on the cylinder walls, and the metal on metal noise. "O thats just the fuel hitting the piston"......I also told her that i spoke with another service advisor at the same dealership who said they have a car in that is being replaced for piston slap.
I dont even know where to start with the frustration on this, seems like every day i'm finding someone new having the same issues. What is it going to take for Ford to get shit done on this? Trying to have the dealer borescope the engine to see if there is any damage. Not going to spend 50k+ just to have piston slap or a faulty motor.
